You’re correct, Pam. President Obama’s salary is $400,000 per year, he also has access to a $150,000 expense account as well as a $100,000 tax free travel account and $20,00 entertainment budget.
When you consider all of the money his books have made, President Obama is worth approximately $10.5 million or more.
But let’s not forget, the Clinton’s were not millionaires when they entered the White House but they sure as hell left as multi- millionaires individually and as a couple.

lady is just mad because she wishes she was Michelle Obama. They can go on whatever trip they want! Your tax dollars are not helping them at all so stop trying to act like you have money cause we know you dont!

American tax dollars isn’t paying for this trip. The Obamas are paying for this themselves. It was reported on the news. I wonder why is it that whenever the Obamas go on trips, i.e. Spain, Russia, etc. that people always comment about how their tax dollars are being spent. I saw this documentary on television that talked about the presidents that have lived in the White House and their expenses. I think that people would be surprised to find out how much money that Presidents (Obama) really have to pay for. Their is a white house budget that tax payers pay for such as keeping the grounds of the white house, official visits from foregin leaders, etc. But everything else from laundry service, to meals, to trips, the first family has to pay for themselves, and yes they have to pay taxes too.

I’m so glad these girls look like young ladies! This is an example of how our young girls should look today. And yes Malia’s dress is short but she is tall. It’s not revealing anything or trashy. Please don’t try to find something to complain about. Smh!

What a beautiful, dignified family. I can’t say how happy I am that the Obamas are representing America, and consequently all of the beautiful diversity that make up this country.
The dresses are lovely. I especially love the First Lady’s. It is classy and sophisticated but not stiff and altogether formal. She has a great style.

I like the tropical theme of Mrs. Obama’s dress. Those little ladies have been in the public spot light for awhile now and they carry themselves well…so seemingly unaffected, at least in every photo shown publicly.
I imagine that Malia and Sasha are in about the 5th and 8th grades, respectfully ( I’m not sure) and if they are able to visit what is left of El Salvador’s rain forests while they tour the country, they should be able to get extra credit on some special report for Science or biology or some subject when they return to Sidwell.
They’re in 4th and 7th. Sasha will be going to Sidwell Middle School next year.

Little Ms Sasha has started puberty. By 2012 she’ll be a little woman.
I love the girls dresses. Fun and bright for Spring in a Spanish country.
Now lets wait for the dress police to pull out their rulers and handbook to determine if Malia’s dress needs to be below her knees!!
I couldn’t believe the comments on the other post. Since when were tall girls exempt from showing their lower thigh, especially if it’s in a non-sexual manner. The dress had yellow bows on it and it made her look her age, Malia usually looks 14-17.
LMAO thank you! Some people in here can be very judgmental & harsh. It sometimes make me say thank you to my mom b/c I would be scared to have a mother that thinks a dress that comes a little above the knee is too short & inappropriate. & my mom only had me in dresses growing up.

Beautfiul family. I like both Malia and Sasha’s dresses. FLOTUS has been wearing some cute dresses for this South America/Central America trip. I pray that they make it home safely.
