SNOOP DOGG SETS UP TRUST FUND FOR NATE DOGG’S KIDS

Rapper Snoop Dogg has established a trust fund for the children of his cousin, the late singer Nate Dogg. The trust fund will provide Nate’s six children with monetary assistance as they come to terms with the loss of their father.

Snoop-who himself  is a dad of three- writes on his official website, “In memory of Nate Dogg, a memorial trust has been set up for expenses of services and the financial security of Nate’s children. 100% of ALL donations will be given to Nate Dogg’s family. If you wish to make a donation, below is the information on how to do so.”

Nate Dogg, 41, died last week on March 15, 2011 in Long Beach, California of congestive heart failure and other health complications.

A funeral will be held for the deceased musician on Saturday(March 26th, 2011).

    Nate Dogg had such a smooth delivery. Regulate comes to mind and Lay Low. I wasn’t a huge fan of some of the messages of the gangster rap genre but you got to give props where the props are due. RIP. That is good of Snoop. He also actually looks pretty good in the pic shown.

      Hi gtsa! I’m not a fan of the genre either, but Nat Dogg was one of my favorites. His voice, as you put it, was so smooth. I LOVE “Nobody Does It Better.” Even though I didn’t like the lyrics and message of gangster rap, I loved the Snoop/Dre and crew era because they mixed rap with R & B.

        @Blue87, I wish there was a thumbs up icon because you’d get one! This mess today is just SMH crazy.

      • gtsa March 25, 2011 at 10:19 pm

        Teri I agree, there were quite a few r&b classics that were sampled and given new life. Some of the songs that came of this turned out to be classics in their own right such as ‘Regulate’. Some people griped about the sampling at times, but on the flipside it did help to introduce a new generation to the original r&b songs and artists they might not have known about.

        • Teri March 26, 2011 at 1:25 am

          gtsa, I can appreciate artists sampling old school R & B as it pays homage to the musicians who have left a legacy to the newer generation, like, as you stated, are exposed to yesterday’s music.

          “Regulate” is a jam. I love me some Warren G too. I’m rocking to Nate’s youtube vids as I type.

      Blu87 I agree, 41 is way too young to die.

    @ Bookworm -What a callus, irrelevant and unnecessary remark regarding how many mothers. Also, not everyone can be buried in three days. There are such things as an autopsy, waiting for family members to come in from out of town, etc. I guess not everyone was taught that if you don’t have something nice to say don’t say anything at all.
    RIP Nate Dogg.

        @KekeB, you are absolutely correct.

  • Teri March 25, 2011 at 10:02 am

    Wow! I didn’t know Nate had six kids. You’re doing a wonderful thing, Snoop.

    RIP Nate :-(
