JA RULE: ‘THEY NEED DADDY AND DADDY MESSED UP’

In June, rapper Ja Rule will start serving a two-year sentence in prison for possession of a weapon, stemming from a 2007 arrest.

“I’m disappointed,” the rapper says of his upcoming prison stint. “I’m mad at myself.  My daughter, she’s 15 right now,” Rule explained. “These are her last couple of years. She’s about to graduate from high school, and she’s going to college. She needs her father. My boys really need me right now too, as well as my wife. They need Daddy, and Daddy [messed] up.”

He adds, “This is something that’s bad, but there’s gotta be some good that comes out of it.  Even if there are other kids that look at me and say, ‘Let me put my burner down.’ Even if it’s that, then there is something learned from my mistakes.”

In all, the rapper and his wife Aisha have three kids: Brittany, (15), Jeffrey Junior (11) and Jordan (7).

Wow, I had no idea he had legal troubles. This was kept quiet because you know how the media can be. Well, hopefully he has learned his lesson as he appears to understand the consequences of his actions.

This is what that gangsta “get dat papa” life will bring you to. Its the fast track to destruction and despair. Sad that he brought this to his family but he should man up and teach his kids that when you do the crime you have to do the time.

I don’t condone the violence but why the hell does these rappers get such harsh punishments when Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton are repeat offenders for different reason and their walking the streets damn near hitting ppl with cars or still being and alcholic just saying

    • Trisha April 29, 2011 at 9:47 am

RACE. Thats basically the answer to it. Lindsey been to jail so many times & she does 3 days, cries and is set free. Charlie Sheen, the man is sick but everybody thinks its funny. There’s nothing funny about threatening to kill your kids mother. There’s nothing funny about having a prostitute watch your kids while you sniff up coke.
@NOPE, their personal drug use is putting other people in danger when they decide to get in a car when they can easily hire a personal driver. Lindsey Lonhan is a theif & doesn’t get punished. So i think comparing them to rappers is very fitting (in my opinion)

His kids got so big! I remember the boys when they were babies. Brittany is so big. I wonder if her & Diggy still hangout. His Wife is so pretty. I was looking at the picture wondering when he had a 2nd daughter lol.

I’m not gonna lie I’m not a big Ja Rule fan I only really liked on of his songs but I do feel for his wife and kids. Maybe with good behavior he won’t have to do the whole 2 years. It seems like he understands the pain that he has brought to his family hopefully that will stop him from getting into trouble in the future. I wish them all the best!

Seriously? This is sad news. I hate that his kids and wife will have to suffer because he screwed up. I love Ja Rule and believe he has learned his lesson. Two years is a very long time. I hope the entire will make it through this difficult time.

  • theyknow April 28, 2011 at 12:40 pm

The kids are all so cute!! I love Ja and I’m sure he regrets what he did. I hope he doesnt have to do the whole sentence. His wife is very pretty too!!

  • stunnaz April 28, 2011 at 12:31 pm

    His wife looks really good!

  • Sherley April 28, 2011 at 11:31 am

The justice system gives you a right to a speedy trial & most of the time, it takes 2 years to reach that trial date. Now if you are appealing the charges, etc..it makes process longer as in JA’s & most celebrities cases.

I don’t feel celebrities should get better treatment or sentences due to their status. As a celebrety, there is no reason to possess a gun, that is why you have bodyguards, to protect you & take the rap for you.

I luv me some JA, hang in there & make sure when you get out, you never go back in.

  • La April 28, 2011 at 11:20 am

I agree. Sad situation all around. His kids have gotten so big. Hopefully he wont have to do the full sentence.

And here comes the judgemental “Well he shouldnt have messed up” comments….just shadddduuuup lol Im sure he really has learned his lesson. Like we ALL do in our everyday lives with something!

Good luck to him and the fam! Those boys look so funny with their sunglasses on, trying to be all “gangsta”. lol

    • Sherley April 28, 2011 at 11:36 am

We all mess up in everyday life & we all, hoepefully learn a lesson by facing the consequence that came along with the messing up. JA’s consequence is jail time. He has to face it like we all have to face it, there should be no difference for a celebrity or Jo-Jo from the projects.

When people mess up, they do not realize how many others suffer along with them, especially children. I luv JA & his music, hopefully when he gets out, he will come hard through his music & leave the guns to his bodyguards.

  • Loverley April 28, 2011 at 11:04 am

I dont understand how he did this is 07 and they anna sentence him now the same [stuff] that happened to wayne. I do not condone their behaviour at all im just wondering why it takes soo long for them to make a decision if or not they should be locked up.

    • KekeB April 28, 2011 at 3:51 pm

I agree the same thing came to my mind as well

      • TT April 28, 2011 at 7:04 pm

Normally, people have to complete certain tasks before sentencing and the judge will consider them. I can only assume he didn’t do anything to sway the judge even though he had 4 years to do so. It’s funny because my clients, everyday ordinary criminal :-) citizens get better sentences than rappers but not folks like Lindsey Lohan. She gets millions of chances.

        • shina May 10, 2011 at 7:05 pm

I completely agree. Ppl like her get caught driving under the influence of eveything under the sun and NeVeR gets more than a 1wk! WTH!! so wrong. But Michael Vick gets time for dog fighting lol….. yaaa knooow

    • KekeB April 28, 2011 at 4:12 pm

I don’t feel bad for these rappers there’s no reason they should have guns.. like someone else said they have bodyguards and if it’s that serious get a gun license. That said I’m sure he will learn a lesson.. he really has no choice. Ja Rule Lil Wayne Plaxico idk what is wrong with these grown men. Now families and their career are in jeaopardy over their stupid choices… because really it’s a choice not a mistake.

    • Erika April 28, 2011 at 9:04 pm

They can speed the process up if they want but they slow the process down with hearings and challenges etc. Kind of delaying the inevitable.
