JADEN SMITH RANKS WITH HOLLYWOOD’S HIGHEST PAID CHILD STARS
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s son Jaden Smith is reportedly one of the highest paid child stars in Hollywood. Jaden, who starred in the 2010 Karate Kid film, pulled in a seven-figure deal for the movie.
According to documents obtained by TMZ:
…. Jaden’s “KK” contract from June 2009 — back when he was only 10 — and according to the docs, his up-front fee was split into two installments … one for $900,000 and one for $100,000.
But Jaden’s back end deal was even more lucrative — since the film topped $150 million in the domestic box office, the young actor locked down another $2 million bonus.
But $3 million is the bare minimum — based on several additional in-contract perks AND the astronomical success of the film, Jaden likely pulled in even more.
Jaden will celebrate his 13th birthday in July of this year.

So his parents negotiated a good deal for him – kudos to them. I’m sure if anyone of us were in their positions we would do the same PLUS it was a good movie and Jaden did very well in the film, the kid did his own stunts and all – I’m sure there’s plenty of adults who couldn’t pull of what he did if given the opportunity..LOL
I just don’t understand all the frustation about these kids being in the spotlight – do you guys know how many adult actors/actresses started off as child actors. As long as I don’t seem them in public making a fool of themselves and behaving badly, I say do your thing Smith family.

Jaden has long pretty hair AND when he let it all down that is when I drift off into heaven!!! His hair is black, curly and long. Willow didn’t get that trait.

It is well documented that Will and Jada supports Trey with love and attention and time; look it up.
Trey didn’t want to be an entertainer. He tried it and it wasn’t his thing. There is nothing wrong with that and Will, Jada, and Sheree would be wrong to force it.
The other day I was watching ANTM reruns and Trey was on. He looked about Jaden’s age. So cute!
I’m not surprised as his parents production company produced the film. If Jaden made that much, can you imagine how much Will made?
Get it Jaden, your parents are wise, makes me raise my eyebrows at times, but very wise.
It’s amazing. If invested the right way, Jaden has enough money to not have to work for the rest of his life. Not to mention his future inheritance from his parents.

OMG..Jaden is such a great child actor! He is so cute and talented. I hope he make it into adulthood as an actor bc he will be even better. I am happy for him and want to see more of in the future.

You do know that the world doesn’t work that way.
So Jaden should stifle his ambitions and desires to act simply because of who he was born to? How fair would that be? If his parents are pushing him, we’ll find that out soon enough, but speculation serves no purpose. Until then, go Jaden!

It’s no surprise since his parents produced the movie. I’m not hating on him as he’s a kid and good luck to him but he only got the role because of who his dad is. I wouldn’t be surprised if he earned more than Jackie Chan did. I like the way the Smith’s put Jaden’s name first on all the Karate Kid posters, yet Jackie Chan was the main star for me as he is a Hollywood legend.
