Saturday , nice intelligent comments and I concur! Bircial offsprings also come in all shades, colors and phenotypes as well.

  • Kully June 2, 2011 at 7:35 am

The childs father is black and light skinned. The mother (pictured) mother is white and father is black.

  • connie1 May 29, 2011 at 3:23 pm

Kinky curly hair is so beautiful. If i had a daughter, i would definately keep her hair like that.

  • Tina May 29, 2011 at 10:18 am

I so agree with you. Every time a mixed person is shown on this site it turns into oh just because they are biracial they are still black. Like who cares if they claim black. I had mixed race friends and some did not want to be call black or white. They will straight up and tell you they are mixed!! People on this site make race an issues. Get over it. Like you said they are not putting food on or table or anyone else.

  • beauty&beast May 28, 2011 at 10:54 pm

as long as we keep having debates about the blk vs white, mixrace & whatever we will never move on and grow. why can’t we say “what a lovely family” or “what a beautiful little girl” smh.

  • Estela Gomez May 28, 2011 at 4:39 pm

That so-called MIXED RACE term is obsessively used by Dominicans and Puertoriquenos who constantly try to rename black people by insisting on calling them MIXED RACE. Puerto Ricans and Dominicans will always try to distant themselves from their African slave ancestry and erroneously believe that black people elsewhere think they way they do but they don’t.

  • Saturday May 28, 2011 at 4:07 pm

I see the troll is on full blast here with this photo once again talking about black people, who we are what percentages and what not. The mother and child is black and yes that is what they call themselves in the UK and you can go on AfroEurope and see all the black people living in European countries and still calling themselves Afro European, Europe being their nationality. There is no such thing as mixedrace and is has never been a separate, officially recognized race. It is not a race at all. Black people come in all colors, shades and phenotypes, there is no one way to be black. Black denotes much more than a color anyway, it is a history, cultural as much as anything else. And we are represented all over the world. Black parents and their children will continued to be represented on bck to show the vast variety of black people regardless of where they come from.

    • pam May 30, 2011 at 6:02 am

True I hate when people use and overuse the term mixed race.Mixed is not a race.

    • Misha May 31, 2011 at 6:08 am

Are you British? because I am.
Like I said, nobody would publicly called this child black. However if you forced someone choose whether this child was white or black, they would say black. That’s the problem with the US, you are simply say white or black whereas over here we’re very politically correct and if you ever applied for a job you would see two pages worth of race/ethnicity categories.

From personal experience, it is hard to claim “black” in the UK since we do not have the same shared history like African Americans. There is no such thing as Black British, we still claim our original nationalities. For instance, I am not half black, I am half Nigerian or Jamaican or Kenyan.

Go and search our biracial celebrities: Thandie Newton, Leona Lewis etc. They are not half white half black. They are half white, half Zimbabwean and half white, half guyanese respectively. The closest to Black britsh we have are the Caribbean immigrants who came here 70 years ago.

I’m talking specifically about the UK. In other countries in European, things are more complex. I know in France and Germany there is big debate about race and nationality, so much so that biracial French people are forced to claim only their African side because that’s how the government sees them.

Whereas UK, I think if anything white people like to think biracial children are more white than black. Hence, why the word mixed is used more commonly.

      • Fashionedbygod33 May 31, 2011 at 8:49 pm

@Misha, I actually appreciate your post. Interesting.

  • Nelly May 28, 2011 at 2:48 pm

All magazines nowadays are heavily photoshopped. People look so unreal, like aliens. It always makes me laugh. I also see that photos of black people are often bleached. It’s not necessarily the photographed people’s fault, it’s not like they ask to be bleached, it’s the editors I think who want to make things “better”. They want regular people to believe that ALL successful black men and women are light-skinned and have flawless skin. It’s not true. What we see in magazines is a lie and then people start to feel inferior because they don’t look so “flawless”. Dark-skinned people are beautiful but the editors don’t want to see it and they don’t want to promote it. They prefer to bleach them instead. So sad.

    • pam May 30, 2011 at 5:59 am

I kow I hate when they over do it like they’ve been doing with Tamera and her new fiance.Tamera and her new fiance look better to me without the photo shop because they look more real.

  • Nelly May 28, 2011 at 2:38 pm

    *Who cares

  • Nelly May 28, 2011 at 2:37 pm

WHo care if she’s mixed or not. She’s black and she looks black. That’s waht matters and it’s good.

    • Nelly May 28, 2011 at 2:38 pm

      * It should be ‘Who cares’

  • Misha May 28, 2011 at 10:48 am

I’m British and most people here, including myself, don’t like Javine for what she did to Alesha Dixon (a popular singer/presenter who was married to MC Harvey). However, her daughter is cute.

Here, if we didn’t know who her parents were, we would call her mixed raced. No one would call her black. Judging from the comments here, the UK is a little different to the US. We don’t just see black and white. Maybe we’re too politically correct. Leona Lewis could never be called black publicly. She is mixed race.

    • Grace May 28, 2011 at 4:45 pm

I agree, I’m from Europe too and it is quite different here than in the US. We don’t just talk in terms of black/white, that child would never be considered black here. In most of Europe she would be considered mixed.

      • Tiana May 28, 2011 at 6:31 pm

Because most people in the U.s are brainwashed by the “one drop” rule nonsense. Whenver someone is biracial or mulitiracial it seems like people only want them to claim the “black” part of them and forget the rest of their genetic make up. Personally I think people should be able to claim and represent all parts of their culture/heritage as they please. Why should they have to claim one side and not the other? Why dooes everyone have to be put into ONE box?…BUT that’s the U.S for ya…

        • Teri May 28, 2011 at 11:04 pm

As quiet as it’s kept, I don’t think most people give a rat’s behind what people claim. Why is that so important to you or anyone else? There are some mixed raced people who consider themselves black, i.e. Paula Patton and Halle Berry. Is that a crime? Black people aren’t getting paid for biracial people claiming their black. Sheesh, we keep rehashing the same old tired b.s. on this site. Whatever people claim isn’t putting food on my table or anyone elses. We keep talking about people “being of the human race” and how we “don’t see color,” yet it is clear to me (and sorry, but don’t try to act like the UK is any different pretending that all is well because I know better) that people are so hung up on this dang subject. Since no race is better than the next, this shouldn’t even be a topic.

          • Misha May 31, 2011 at 5:46 am

I think it’s fine for biracial children to affiliate with one side but it’s their choice. Society has no right to tell someone who is half black, half white, that they are black when they do not see themselves as such.

We don’t do this to half asians, we don’t insist someone is Chinese when they are half chinese/half white. So why is it any different for mixed black/white?

    • Heaven Lee May 28, 2011 at 4:57 pm

So do any of them still have a career?

    • Heaven Lee May 28, 2011 at 4:59 pm

I just looked up Aleesha Dixon and she is gorgeous. What is the current state with all three celebs?

  • Micky May 28, 2011 at 8:26 am

All I see is a fair black child with gorgeous kinky hair.

  • BrwnSantiLove May 27, 2011 at 9:15 pm

On the fence about the pics in a whole, but both mother and child are beautiful.

  • Celia May 27, 2011 at 7:08 pm

I think it`s the makeup and lighting guys..

  • Sherley May 27, 2011 at 3:52 pm

    Oh my goodness.

I see a black child, nothing more, nothing less..hence why she is posted on BCK.

This proves to me that the people who have issues with mixed children are the mixed ones. Just because you say you are black does not mean your white side disappears & vice versa. Stop trying to make the agony you are going through trying to identify with all your sides my issue. You do not get extra credit for claiming every genetically blessed side.

I have black, hispanic & asian genes but I am a proud black female.

    • NK May 27, 2011 at 5:51 pm

      Amen!

I would look and sound silly if I started listing my entire racial makeup or background every time someone asked which race I belonged to (usually mistaken as east Indian or biracial). I am black and proud. This doesn’t offend my Caucasian ancestors in any way. They would agree that I am black, too, lol.

The woman and child in these photos look black to me. They are beautiful regardless.

    • Celeste May 27, 2011 at 6:01 pm

You should check out the new Bill Duke trailer for “Dark Girls”. The pain goes deep and we need to acknowledge the way lighter skinned people (i.e. women, girls) are treated over darker skinned people.

      • realistic May 27, 2011 at 6:19 pm

I saw that today and I cried. I even emailed the link to BCK in the hopes that they will post it at some time. Many people on here are always saying race and skin tone doesn’t matter and shouldn’t be an issue when it clearly does and is.

      • Sherley May 27, 2011 at 6:59 pm

I’m going to check the trailer out Victoria.

I still believe race is an issue amongst black people because we make it an issue. I’m the only light one on my mother’s side (the Hispanic & Asian is from my father’s side). My dark skin brothers & cousins are also gorgeous but keep on saying I’m the better looking one out of the group. I strongly disagree..we are all beautiful & I’m not saying that because we are family (I do have a cousin on father side who isn’t cute..at all).

Whether or not we are light skin or dark skin, we are still black & nothing will ever change that. I’m caramel complexion, my son is a dark brown & we both love our complexion because I will not have it any other way. If you are happy with yourself, no other opinion will matter.

      • NK May 27, 2011 at 11:12 pm

I watched the trailer. The women featured in it were all beautiful to me. If someone thinks these beautiful women are unattractive because of their skin tone then they have a sickness of the mind or they have completely bought into the European standard of beauty. I would briefly go into the underlying reason or the history behind this madness but someone will flag my comment as inappropriate because they can’t handle the truth.

    • Heaven Lee May 28, 2011 at 4:50 pm

@Sherley, I agree with you..Im multiculural & light too but I don’t go around explaining this to everybody or checking “mixed” when I apply for school/or a job. Because honestly, WHO CARES! I’ve always identified with being Black and love it! I don’t want to be anything else. I could care less when someone says they are biracial bc no one cares but them. The world/employers/police etc..will ALWAYS view them as being Black.

  • Tami May 27, 2011 at 3:07 pm

    I am really sick
Of people and mixed this black that. We all are human and bleed red am I right? She’s a goregous child no need to alWaysssss bring up race into every post. Black people are too obsessed over mixed heritage really. Geez

  • LondonBaby May 27, 2011 at 1:47 pm

this child is cute but in my humble opinion Nahla is stunning!

  • Raye May 27, 2011 at 12:31 pm

So What if the Baby is Mixed She is Still BLACK.. AND IT’S ALL THE LIGHTING THEY HAVE ON HER IF THEY DIDN’T USE WHITE BACKDROP PLUS FLOOR LIGHTING AND TOP LIGHTING AND THE REFLECTOR PLUS THE FLASH ON THE CAMERA IT MADE HER MUCH LIGHTER THAN SHE APPEAR. AND OUNCE SHE GET OLDER SHE HER COLOR MIGHT CHANGE

    • Really Doe May 27, 2011 at 2:05 pm

EXACTLY! Quite right Raye, quite right! Being mixed & being black are the same thing. being mixed & being black does not cancel each other out. It’s the same difference. If all people who are mixed were forced to only claim biracial or multiracial or whatever, then there would be just a handful of us who would be considered black ya dig?!

      • Really Doe May 27, 2011 at 2:13 pm

cont. The majority of us just dont know our own mixed race history thats all. Digg into your family trees & you’re guaranteed to find it! I can BANK on that!

  • Trisha May 27, 2011 at 12:02 pm

That little girl is beautiful! She really looks like an angel you would see in a painting lol

  • EVELINA RAE May 27, 2011 at 11:49 am

    Angel is cute!

The photographer could have covered her better. I mean she is a girl. :(

Whom ever airbrushed Angel’s face in the first picture didn’t do a good job, at all.

    • prettysanchez June 2, 2011 at 10:19 am

Exactly. why is her face lighter than her body though? All that airbrushing.. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was really the same complexion as Heidi and Seal’s daughter.

and why is everyone so fixated on the race of this child? The only thing i see when i look at her is un– prettiness …race didn’t even cross my mind.

  • KRHO May 27, 2011 at 11:20 am

Sad. I guess she thought he would’nt cheat on her. The little girl is pretty. Those darn recessive genes!

  • Seriously May 27, 2011 at 11:12 am

    Both are very pretty! :)

  • CaramelKiss May 27, 2011 at 11:01 am

Yes, I’ve done some basic research and it looks as though both parents seem to biracial.

Here’s what the couple look like in happier times:
    http://www.startrip.tv/2006/11/javine-nicks-mc.html

Here’s a wiki link telling about her baby daddy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Harvey_(musician)

    • EVELINA RAE May 27, 2011 at 12:00 pm

It would seem Javine got what she deserved. Poor Angel. Mr. Michael “MC” Harvey, Jr. needs to get a clue. LOSER!

    • Heaven Lee May 28, 2011 at 4:41 pm

Yeah Javine had it coming to her..what goes around comes around.

  • Tiana May 27, 2011 at 11:00 am

Cute kid. I wonder if this Jarvin chick will get the same backlash as Alicia Keys does on here…

    • Amber May 27, 2011 at 11:46 am

I need to scoop…fill me in on this one!

    • Amber May 27, 2011 at 11:52 am

just read up…WOW. take note Alicia, what goes around truly does come around…

    • PlainMean May 27, 2011 at 6:30 pm

I doubt most people on here know who she is, so I no she won’t get the same backlash.

  • mindfulness May 27, 2011 at 10:50 am

I think this child has two black parents.

    • Adi May 27, 2011 at 10:58 am

Actually, I think that both parents are mixed
Javin is 1/2 black, 1/2 white, the baby’s daddy is 3/4 black, 1/4 white.

She came out looking more white though

      • Billie'sMom (aka Amy) May 27, 2011 at 1:19 pm

That’s just too much unnecessary math to figure out. That’s why to me, a person is either Black or White, etc.! I don’t have the time or interest to check out their ancestry on ancestry.com!

        • Trisha May 27, 2011 at 1:43 pm

That’s ignorant. Why should someone deny the other half of them or heritage b/c you think its too confusing smfh

          • lwade May 27, 2011 at 6:08 pm

If we break it down like that, the very unique African-American would cease to exist. We would be annihilated. You can have a black person with two so-called black parents and they would have more white ancestry than someone with one of each. All black Americans are mixed. More-so than any other group. Of course calling some of us ‘biracial’ makes people nervous. It’s called wanting to survive. God gave us all that instinct. Some people just chose to go with the ‘if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em club.

        • Really Doe May 27, 2011 at 1:48 pm

wow billy’s mom! A person is either black or white?! Do you realize that race is scientifically non existent, & that “black” people are already mixed themselves? As are some “white” people

          • Billie'sMom (aka Amy) May 27, 2011 at 3:33 pm

That’s what I said, people. Deal with it!

      • yo May 27, 2011 at 4:38 pm

3/4 black is black. Who in this world is not 3/4 black that falls under BLACK. I mean, that’s like arguing Malia and Sasha aren’t black. For real?

      • pam June 3, 2011 at 12:26 am

        She did!

  • JAI May 27, 2011 at 10:49 am

    WATCH OUT Nahla Aubry!

  • mikel May 27, 2011 at 10:24 am

she sooo pretty ,but why is every other child on this website mixed? not knocking her nationality just saying..

    • Really Doe May 27, 2011 at 1:51 pm

Black people are mixed. that’s why we come in so many different looks.

    • ummm yeah May 27, 2011 at 3:01 pm

Have you seen who her father is?
