DORELL WRIGHT: FATHERHOOD IS A ‘REWARDING EXPERIENCE’
“Being Devin’s dad is hands down the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” writes NBA player Warrior Dorell Wright. In fact, Dorell says that his son helps him to want to perform better on the court:
“It’s incredibly rewarding to experience the unconditional love of my son. Despite having a good or bad game, he’s always waiting outside the locker room with a smile on his face telling me “good game!” Even if I missed my last 8 shots or just came home from a bad loss, my son Devin is there with a smile on his face- just happy that I’m nearby. Having my son changed everything in my life. It’s not just about me anymore. Knowing I’m responsible for my son makes me want to work 10 times harder not just as a basketball player but also as a person. Devin inspires me to be a better man and. I want to set the best example I can for him. Being Devin’s dad is hands down the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

I’ve been noticing a lot lately (in my area & people i’m associated with) that more fathers are stepping up & taking care of their kids. I’m hearing of boys that are now taking care of their kids after hiding them for a yr, or finally making an effort to see their babies. I’m not complaining b/c they are finally seeing how great it is to be father & feel bad for not being there.
