THE BIG KIDS’ FILE: ALIA ROSE ATTENDS THE 2011 BET AWARDS
Alia Rose, the daughter of the late Teena Marie, attended the BET Awards ’11 held at The Shrine Auditorium on June 26, 2011 in Los Angeles, California.
“I’ve been coping,” Rose said of her mom’s passing recently. “I have a therapist. I love God, I talk to him and I talk to my mom. It gets harder … You only miss them more, but you have to just know that they’re there. You have to know that there’s a reason for everything.”
Rose, who goes by the moniker Rose LeBeau, is an aspiring singer currently working on an untitled debut album.
“[I've learned] don’t sign anything [without looking it over],” Rose shares of the music industry. “That’s the No. 1 thing my mom used to say, and keep your publishing. I’ve been doing music for a long time, almost 15 years. I’m working on my project with my producers Nick Rose and Anthony Vasquez, they’re amazing.”
Teena Marie passed away on December 26th, 2010, a day after her only daughter Alia’s 19th birthday.

It’s good to see the wild and peaceful Lady T’s baby girl at the BET Awards all swagged out and smiling. I wish the BET Awards would have let Ms.Alia Rose do the tribute to her mother because this young lady is a helluva vocalist and travelled and performed with her mother. I see that Lady T has taught her daughter well and she’s still pushing for her baby girl from the other side especially since Lady T left her at such a young age. The Bible tells us that death is the last enemy to be conquered so until then we all have to keep the faith.
She is very pretty and she does favor Persia alot!
She is beautiful I wish her the best.. it hurts now and you will always miss her but one day it won’t hurt as bad. Teena Marie was truly a great I think Ledisi did a great job in her tribute last night but I would have loved to see Alia Rose sing her mom’s song as well.. anywho all the best to her in her career.

Ledisi did a great tribute to Teena on the BET awards last night. I wish Alia the best with her career. I know her mama is proud.
