Move over, Mc Hammer. It’s Booby time! Bobby Burrell,16, a.k.a “Booby Hammer” has released his first official single called ‘Booby Hammer Is The Name’.  Check out Booby’s song below.

“…I dance, rap and as of right now i would like to pursue my dream of being able to sing. I am in the making of being who I want to be, that’s the best way i can put it. I thank God for where i’m at in life. Without him nothing would be possible,” Burrell recently posted on his Facebook Page.

I watched MC Hammer reality show AND fell in-love with Hammer all over again and I loved his close knit family. Booby is a nickname and he can actually dance and is gifted musically.

I wish him the very best. :)

Why do people always say “they can be doctors or lawters” its a million more careers than that. If they wanna be a rapper let them… if they want to be a cop let him.. the best a parent can do is guide them and be behind the 100%

I wish him the best! But I’m sick of kids of celebrities wanting to rap, dance, and sing!!!!

agreed. they could be great scientists, discover a cure for a disease. but they’re too busy chasing pie in the sky dreams where your success depends on how well the public receives you. nepotism doesn’t always guarantee success.

I guess it’s just like when you have a family of doctors, lawyers, teachers etc. The children look up to their parents and/or siblings and want to carry on their legacy in a lot of cases.

yeah but the chances of them becoming successful doctors, lawyers, or teachers are much higher than them trying to go into show business. and even if they did show business and it didn’t quite pan out, at least they have a back up plan. rather than some one hit wonder who ends up spending all their one song money and filing for bankruptcy within 2 years.

Not everybody is same. Assuming you’ll fail before u even try has already made u a failure. More power to him for taking on such a challenge. I’m following in my mother’s footsteps even though her job is impossible and it’s even more difficult for me because i face challenges she doesn’t have to. But i’ll be alright and so will he. He has plenty of time to find a plan B, plus he probably already has one. And just cause ur a rapper, singer etc. doesn’t mean thats all you’ll ever be, who’s to say he can’t still be a lawyer, doctor, etc. He can be what ever he wants to be as long he believes in himself n keeps shooting so high. sky’s the limit.

You’re right and I’m not arguing against that fact but my point was children look up to their parents and siblings so they are likely to choose a field similiar to or the same as their parents and/siblings especially if it’s a tradition to work in a certain field. Even though almost everyone wants their children to have a secure future, it’s also just as important to support them but encourage them to have a back up plan instead of discouraging them because you don’t think the field they choose would guarantee financial stability. He could pursue a career in entertainment but have a degree in whatever or just a fall back plan incase things don’t work out the way he anticipates.

you make a valid point. once upon a time i thought i wanted to do what my mom does for a living. i found out very quickly that it wasn’t for me. then you had my dad over here telling me what he thought i should be. i already knew it wasn’t for me early on. i eventually figured out what i wanted to do aside from what my parents or anyone else thought i should do or did for a profession. so i did my own thing, and it has nothing to do with what anyone else i know has ever done. it wasn’t the most popular choice where my parents were concerned, but they know me and my interests and i pursued what pleased me first. so if he truly wants to do this and has a passion for it, aside from the earnings he could potentially make, more power to him.

I’m with you. There is no other name he could have picked?

      • Seriously August 23, 2011 at 7:20 pm

his nickname was aready “Booby” so I guess he slapped Hammer after it..but I would have chosen “Lil Hammer”..much better stage name.
