VIDEO: DMX INTRODUCES ‘NEWEST BABY’ AALIYAH
DMX introduced the world to his ‘newest baby’ Aaliyah while on on BET’s 106 and Park yesterday. The rapper revealed that he named his newborn daughter after the late singer Aaliyah, who died 10 years ago on August 25th.
“This is Aaliyah,” he said to the audience. “She is my newest baby. I named her after [singer] Aaliyah because that’s how special she was to me. ”
“Know that you are named after an angel,” the rapper added while looking at his daughter.

My mom named me after Aaliyah before she died, I’m eighteen now but i still feel honored to be named after her. She was a gorgeous talented young woman and i always feel proud to tell people she’s my namesake
that baby is not by his ex-wife tashera’s. dmx has a fiance in arizona and it was said that the fiance and some other chic were getting a reality show on vh1 but i don’t think it was approved.
WOW. Out of the troubles he’s been in, no one ever mentioned, he was about to be a father. Great for him though. I’ve always like DMX.

Earl had problems long before Aaliyah died. Long before he was rapping in the hood under “DMX”, long before he made it in the industry. The issues he faces now began in childhood, continued into adulthood, was masked & hidden by the bright lights and fame once he got famous, & treated momentarily on and off illegal drugs since he was a young teen. His “Behind the Music” is one of the saddest I have ever seen. I cried from beginning to end.

Sweet of him to name his daughter after his friend. He seemed to really care for her. A lot of folks did. Aaliyah seemed like a real sweet person.

Me too and I have her pics saved on my laptop. I also use her pic as my pic on my Youtube account. It was something “special” about Aaliyah. I miss her badly and her dance moves, fashion and hair styles. Her videos were always unique and the best.

I loved Aaliyah so much and used to try to dress and wear my hair like hers..she was a true artist and very talented.
When I have a daughter I plan on naming her Skylar Aaliyah.
Skylar Aaliyah is a pretty name. I always said if I had a daughter, I’d name her Aaliyah, but I just have a son. The year Aaliyah died, there was a surge of babies named Aaliyah. I thought that was nice.

What are your thoughts on the boy name “Noah Christopher”? If I have a boy, I want to name him Noah bc its a biblical name and Christopher is a family member name.

Awww that’s so sweet! He and Aaliyah were good friends so that was a nice gesture on his part. He and he wife aren’t together anymore and 4 of the 10 kids are by her the rest are by different women. Can’t believe it’s been 10 years….Detroit misses you Baby Girl R.I.P!!!
