ALICIA KEYS: ‘MY SON EGYPT MAKES ME LAUGH LIKE A MANIAC’
Alicia Keys took a stroll around New York City with her son Egypt Dean, one in October, yesterday(August 31st).
“My son, Egypt, makes me super giddy, especially when he laughs. His laugh makes me laugh like a maniac! ….He’s going to be a man in this world. It’s a beautiful blessing that I get to help raise a man. And I want to show him as much as possible,” Alicia Keys says in a recent interview with Glamour magazine.
The singer admits that she named her son after having a breakthrough moment in the country of Egypt.
“It was a time of transition. There were certain people [I was working with] who weren’t right. I had friends who weren’t right anymore. I was tired and I had overworked myself and burnt myself out. So I went to Egypt by myself. When I saw what was built there, it made me understand how powerful we are, that we can create anything. And I felt like I needed to create things that were timeless too.”

Awww, he’s such a beautiful baby, and he looks so bright and curious! Alicia looks really great too, I love seeing her in mommy mode.
Also, we’ve only seen Egypt a few times and this is only the 2nd time I’ve noticed a pacifier, so saying he always has a binky in, is a bit of a stretch. Plus, he’s only 11 months old, I doubt his teeth are even developed enough to be affected by a pacifier. But I guess people will always find something to say, right?
I love me some Egypt & I still like AK.
He definitely loves his binky. My brother, now 28, had a binky till he was 3. We didn’t know he knew how to talk that well till the day he took it out & threw it away. My other brothers & I would hide it or throw it away but my mother would just buy him another one.
He’s only 11mnths, so he has a little more time.
That binkie needs to go!!!!!!
It makes their breath smell if you don’t brush those little teeth!!!
Kids need to learn how to function without those things.

How can he smile and talk to you with that thing in his mouth.
For some reason some kids need to suck more than others. I have 4 kids – 2 barely sucked them at all, 1 of them did sometimes and 1 of them HAD to have it. I mean if I left it at home I would pay $10 for one. He needed that comforting for some reason! When the time is right he can let it go.
OMG! The picture Swizz posted was so adorable. He is just so cute and beautiful. Love them as a family.

What a beautiful baby, love him! He’s so healthy looking (glowing complexion and just the right amount of baby fat, lol)! But coming from Alicia, I would’ve expected nothing less..they are BOTH blessed.
