HOT TOPIC: “WHAT DOES HAVING ‘GOOD HAIR’ MEAN TO YOU?

Isaiah Mustafa aka The Old Spice Guy wants a woman with ‘good hair’ so that he can have kids with ‘nice hair’.  “Yes, it does have to be real hair. I want my kids to have nice hair so she better have good hair. Cause, I don’t know if you’ve checked my hair out lately. Aside from today it’s normally nice. Today it’s slightly nappy,” Mustafa told E!News  a few days ago.

Isaiah has since apologized via social networking site Twitter: “I want 2 apologize wholeheartedly 2 anyone out there who was offended or hurt by the irresponsible comments I made on E! News[sic].”

    What an ignorant black man.

  • SVS October 22, 2011 at 12:24 pm

What is good hair? Good hair is hair that is clean, healthy and well-groomed. Please god when will our thinking ever get off the plantation! If we truly understood the mammoth contributions blacks have made throughout history, believed in them and taught them to our children proudly, folks would and should be emulating us. And black women who persist in buying straight hair, we don’t make a dime from it. Asians dominate that $9B hair market and will NOT allow us to compete. Wouldn’t it be great if we focus on what’s in our heads instead of what kind of white folks’ hair was on it?

SMH..this will never go away..and world lets face it..its how these men see it now in days..we know it..

Speaking of so-called good hair! This mans daughter looks like she has that thick unmanageable hair. Did you ever see a mixed child’s hair? Remember on Maury some time ago white women would come on there with their mixed daughters so they could get a makeover for their daughter’s hair. It was so thick and nappy they did not know what to do with it. It looked worse than if the child was all black and not mixed. I’m just saying that to say just because a black man has a child with a white woman does not guarantee so called “good hair” So he really sounds very ignorant. Good hair is hair that is groomed in a presentable manner and that is flattering to the individual…Period!!!!

Can anyone tell me where I can find the necklace he’s wearing? Thanks.

  • luvbug October 6, 2011 at 11:31 pm

I thought that unattractive child was all black. Before he look at hair he better look at the face. Child doesn’t favor him that much and her hair isn’t nothing like Nahla’s. Nahla hair is what I consider very soft and pretty, not his daughter’s. He had the nerve to come out of his dumb azz mouth with such a stupid statement.

  • MzFierce October 6, 2011 at 6:34 pm

so he basically loves his daughter because she looks nothing like the woman who gave birth to him.

    nice.

MELISSA, HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF THE NAME “OPRAH”! YEAH, WELL SHE IS MORE SUCCESSFUL THAN ALL THE LADIES YOU NAMED BEFORE. OPRAH HAS NATURAL HAIR AND SOMETIMES SHE WEARS IT CURLY IN A BIG BUSH. LOOK HOW FAR SHE HAS MADE IT. LOOK HOW RICH SHE IS. LOOK HOW SUCCESSFUL SHE IS. OPRAH IS WAY MORE SUCCESSFUL THAN HALLE BERRY, TYRA BANKS, AND VANESSA WILLIAMS. OPRAH IS NUMBER #1 AND SHE DID IT DESPITE HER LOOKS!

  • connie1 October 5, 2011 at 7:06 pm

THAT LITTLE GIRL WILL NOT GET AHEAD IN LIFE JUST BASED OFF OF HER LOOKS, HAIR AND SKIN COLOR. THATS NOT HOW IT WORKS TODAY! PLENTY OF PEOPLE WITH KINKY HAIR ARE LIVING WELL AND BETTER THAN WHITE PEOPLE. EDUCATION GETS YOU AHEAD IN LIFE. IGNORANCE GETS YOU KNOW WHERE!

  • connie1 October 5, 2011 at 7:04 pm

YOU SOUNDED VERY IGNORANT MELISSA. WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT YOU KNOW WHAT ALL BLACK PEOPLE FEEL? I KNOW PLENTY OF BLACK PEOPLE WHO LOVE THEIR NATURAL KINKY TEXTURE. I KNOW PLENTY OF BLACK MEN WHO LOVE BLACK WOMEN WITH NATURAL HAIR. SO WHEN YOU MAKE STATEMENTS LIKE YOU DID, YOU NEED TO REALIZE THAT YOU ARE STEREOTYPING AND JUST LISTENING TO THE MEDIA. THE MEDIA IS NOT THE ENTIRE WORLD. I HAVE LIVED IN JAPAN, GERMANY, SPAIN, AND KOREA AND I HAVE LEARNED THAT PEOPLE HAVE THEIR OWN OPINIONS THAT ARE NOT BASED OFF OF OUR IGNORANT MEDIA. SO EDUCATE YOURSELF FIRST BEFORE YOU GO AROUND SAYING THAT ALL BLACK PEOPLE FEEL THAT WAY ABOUT THEMSELVES.

  • connie1 October 5, 2011 at 6:59 pm

ALSO, MELISSA, YOU HAVE FAILED TO REALIZE THAT SOME BLACK PEOPLE WITH KINKY HAIR ARE GORGEOUS AND DONT NEED APPROVAL FROM SOCIETY. THEY ARE LIVING THEIR LIVES AS DOCTORS, LAWYERS ETC… AND THEY ARE MARRIED TO BLACK MEN AND HAPPY!

  • connie1 October 5, 2011 at 6:57 pm

MELISSA WHATS YOUR POINT? ARE YOU TRYING TO MAKE PEOPLE FEEL BAD FOR THE TYPE OF HAIR THEY HAVE. WHAT I AM SAYING IS THAT, THAT MAN HAS A BI-RACIAL DAUGHTER AND HER LIFE WILL NOT BE ANY EASIER BECAUSE OF IT. THAT IS A MYTH. SHE IS STILL BLACK AND WILL GET TREATED LIKE SHE IS FULL BLACK. WHITE PEOPLE DONT CARE IF YOUR BLACK OR BI-RACIAL, OR IF YOU HAVE SOFT HAIR OR NOT. ALL THEY SEE IS BLACK!

  • MELISSA October 5, 2011 at 1:52 pm

CONNIE LOOK AT THE MEDIA. THE BLACK FOLK WITH NATURALLY CURLY

HAIR OR STRAIGHT HAIR ARE PROFILED MORE. IE. NEW CHARLIES ANGEL

GIRL, HALLE BERRY, VANESSA WILLIAMS, TYRA BANKS….THE “MANE”

BLACK WOMEN STARS HAVE “ACCEPTABLE HAIR”. ALTHOUGH MANY AFRO

WEARING SISTAHS ARE FIERCE I STILL DON’T SEE NATUAL WOMEN

PROFILING AFROS AND BRAIDS MAKING AN IMPACT. EVER SEE THE

MOVIE “GOOD HAIR”? THAT IS WHY MOSTLY

KOREAN OWNED BEAUTY SUPPLIES ARE MAKIN A KILLIN OFF OF BLACK

    WOMEN TRYING TO COMPENSATE. DAHHHHHH!

  • MELISSA October 5, 2011 at 1:45 pm

YES CONNIE THE TRUTH IS UGLY. PRETTY FOLK & FOLK WITH

STRAIGHTER HAIR ARE TREATED OVERALL WITH MORE PERFERANCE. JUST

LOOK AT TELEVISION AND MAGAZINES. HOW MANY KNOTTY HEADED FOLK

DO YOU SEE VERSUS CURLY OR STRAIGHT? WHY IS THIS? DAHHHHH!

    • SOCO October 5, 2011 at 9:28 pm

The Caps kills what ever point you want to make..
It is sad that black people still feel this way and say such ignorant stuff.. Look at his daughter, how can she love and respect herself with him talking such smack? So what is good hair? And do people with courser hair have to hate themselves? I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the hair is kinky for a reason. If people in Africa, India, Middle East didn’t have that type of course or thick hair, they wouldn’t be able to survive the sun…

  • connie1 October 4, 2011 at 6:26 pm

MELISSA, YOU SOUND SO IGNORANT. DO YOU REALLY THINK YOUR KID WILL BE TREATED WITH “FAVOR” IF THEY ARE STILL BLACK, MIXED, BI-RACIAL, ASIAN, HISPANIC OR ANYTHING ELSE OTHER THAN WHITE? HELLO, WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY THAT DISCRIMINATES AGAINST ANYTHING THAT IS NOT WHITE. SO YOUR OUT OF LUCK WITH THAT ONE MELISSA!
