ISSA THOMPSON IS KING ISSA
Issa Thompson started rapping at the tender age of eight. By the age of 16, he was signed to Jive Records, making him the youngest rapper to sign with the record label. Fast forward a year later and the 17-year-old MC will be releasing his second mixtape, King Issa, in just a few days. His first mixtape, Back To The Future, has already received rave reviews.

Blackcelebkids.com recently sat down with the young star to find out about his musical influences, his long locks, and more! Check out highlights from the interview now!
On his musical influences:
“My number one influence will definitely have to be my father as well as my grandfather. My dad is a rapper and he is 100% the reason why i’m rapping today. He brought the whole music thing to my life. He taught me how to rap.”
The teen heartthrob adds that he is also heavily influenced by rappers Jayz, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and Eminem. “Those are my favorite five rappers,” he says.
On how he is different from other young rappers: “My work ethic, looks, and how i rap set me apart [from the rest].”

On his long locks:
“A lot of people wear locks or dread locks because of fashion or fad, but i have had my locks since I was two years old. I’ve never had them cut. My dreadlocks are the only thing i know. I feel like they are a part of me. They are a part of who i am and a part of what i represent. I might cut them off eventually, but not right now.”
On collaborating with teen singer Jacob Latimore on Jacob’s single “Like Em All” :
“We are signed to the same production label as well as major label[Crown World Entertainment and Jive records]. [Jacob] and I have a real cool relationship. he is a real cool guy, real humble.”

I like this version better than the original.
He is so handsome with those beautiful eyes!!
I agree with you Kelly. It’s like they don’t put value on education anymore
Only Denzel Washington and his wie place an high importance on education and that is why all four of his kids went to college and one graduated from an IVY League school and one from and HBCU. The other two are at Stamford..pretty impressive. I wish my parents had the money to send me to any college, I would have went to an Ivy League but I dont know..it does seem like the majority of these stars kids want to be models, actors, singers or rappers and thats it.
Stanford University
I just wish these kids had other dreams besides wanting to be a singer or rapper just because they’re parents in the music indusrty. I think someone needs to let these kids know that there are other things out there for them to choose from.
He’s really talented and yes, he’s gorgeous! I love the locks.
WOOOOOWEEEE! THAT’S A FINE YOUNG MAN RIGHT DURR
lol. (i like)
He is gorgeous.. didn’t listen to his music not a big rap fan but he is definitely eye candy for these lil girls. I love dreads so I may be partial

He is very pretty
He is Gorgeous!
Wow BCK…you featured my boy Issa again, thanks, haha.
His eyes could melt metal, haha just like Cali Dreams and Willow Smith’s.
I love dreads! I’m a neat dread, too
if I was only 15 years younger lol sigh!
His eyes r gorgeous I wish him the best!
I only comment on posts about Issa! Too bad he’s not on here often. His talent speaks for itself and he is such a sweetheart. Hopefully one day he will be mentioned along with the hip hop greats. “King Issa” mixtape actually comes out on November 18th not the 31st.
Very attractive!!!
Well good for him and I hope he achieve success.
hes had his locs since he was two and has never cut them but theyre not long at all. OK
ive only had mine 7 years and theyre longer than his.
Your hair may grow differently than his. You and Issa are two totally different people from different backgrounds and have different genetics.
Common sense…
@HerNameIsMe Amen! his hair is his!
Genetics in what sense? All hair can grow, it depends on diet, environment and how well you take care of your hair. I have very thick hair, but my hair grows very fast and full. So does my mother’s and 1 sister, the other’s doesn’t. Same mother and father. It all has to do with how she takes care of her hair. It takes some people cutting their hair for it to actually grow.
