everytime he is one here with his daughter he looks like a sourpuss….Wonder why he is so unhappy. He has a beautiful daughter, he shld be happy to spend time with her.

her last name is interesting.. so it is hyphenated but the dads last name is first and the moms last or am I misunderstanding?

You’ve got it. Some moms want their lastnames used too, so people are starting to add it after the dads. Different, but this way dad gets the pride of having his child carry his name and mom gets what she wants. Odd if you’re married before the children were born.
In som cultures it is traditional to hyphenate the last name with the mothers last name being last.
