Singer Solange Knowles recently posted candid pics of her son Daniel Julez Smith. In these pictures, the 7-year-old enjoys a croissant while glaring into the camera. When commenting on her son’s delightful time of eating, Solange says, “Maybe I’m bias, or has eating a croissant never looked so cute?”

this is a handsome young man. and regardless of how Jay and Bey’s baby looks the only thing that matters is that the baby is healthy.
I can see him as a model in about 10 years. He is a cutie. I actually did not know his eyes were blue.
I agree blue eyes are just a mutation any race can have them does that make any sense black people are the longest ethnicity to be on this world supposedly every race came from us they just relocated and their skin,hair, etc changed to climate but when it comes to light eyes that can’t happen to black people only white people

Julez is a handsome little fella. And you are biased Solange. LOL! I think the same thing whenever my youngest (2yo) niece does anything. Even if it’s something bad and she knows better. She’s way too smart for her own good.
My 4yo niece reminds me of Julez. Hair and eye color, but she looks like Romelo, Monica’s son.

Goodness, he is looking every bit like grandma Tina. Maybe dads side is responsible for his blue eyes, but everything else about him says Knowles.

solange’s mom has green/hazel eyes and his father is biracial so both of his parents obviously passed down a recessive gene for light eyes.
He probably got them from his mom’s side of the family. Beyonce has hazel eyes, and Miss Tina has hazel green eyes. Keep in my mind down Miss Tina’s line there is creole. With genetics you just never know. Look at Vanessa Williams, both her and her brother got blue gray eyes but niether her parents or grandparents had that eye color.
eyecolor is a complicated thing but to keep it simple you usually have two blue-eyed parents if you are blue-eyed, that’s why there is so few of us with blue eyes compared with those with brown eyes. Two browne-eyed parents can have blue-eyed children if they both have the gene för blue eyes somewhere in their family line. I think that’s what has happen in this case. (isn’t his dad mixed and isn’t tina also?)
And sure there is also cases where mutation happens but that is not as common as people think though.
I do not believe that beyonce and jay-z will have blue-eyed children though, for those who wish that.

Both parents have to carry the recessive gene for blue eyes for the kid to have blue eyes.
Parents with brown eyes on average will not have have children that have blue eyes. The brown allele is dominant over the blue allele. So for a brown-eyed couple to have children with blue yes, they both must have one recessive allele each, and the child would have to have inherited both of those recessive alleles. Jay and Beyonce’s babies eyes will most likely be brown.
Don’t quote me on this, but I once read that every person that have blue eyes r related somehow. It’s genetics because blue eyes r rare!

Actually the blue eyes could also come from Solanges mothers side of the family. Tina Knowles is a Louisiana Creole which is a combination of French, Native American, and African. European genetic traits run deep in the family.

Being that Jay z isn’t this boy’s father & Beyonce isn’t this boys mother, the odds that Baby Carter will look like this boy is slim. Jay Z have some dominate features that his baby may inherit. smh Baby Carter will look like his/her papa & be gorgeous/handsome
Jay-Z has big features and big features doesn’t necessarily = dominant features/genes. I think its funny that people think it does though.

Yes….If the rest of the bloggers haven’t seen the Carter family then Google them they all look like “Quadruplets” Jay family have very strong dominate genetic genes. I’m not a Beyonce fan, but I hope her baby will resemble her side of the family because the media can be cruel. That mixture between them two will be very interesting, Jay may have intelligence, swag, and money, but them facial features still remains. As long as Bey keep her baby girl in Gucci, Prada, Burberry, ect she will be something else, which is nice way to say Awww!!!!
True I’m light skin,my husband is dark skin and my 2 year old is light like me.I even see some biracial kids darker than him which always surprises me.
And btw he doesn’t look much like his dad either.
