ESSENCE ATKINS IS ENJOYING MOTHERHOOD
Are We There Yet? actress Essence Atkins gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Christmas day. Although the celebrity has only been a mom for two weeks, Essence enjoys every moment of motherhood.
The actress recently told Essence that being a mom is one of the most astonishing experiences that she has ever had. Atkins states, “I’ll have these moments where I look at [my son] and I just can’t believe he’s mine. We’ve been though a lot. You go through all this suffering, but at the end of it, look what God gives you.”
Essence and husband Jamie Mendez welcomed their first child into the world after two years of marriage. The couple named the baby Varro, meaning “durable and strong.”

Motherhood is a wonderful thing Essence. 15yrs later, I still look at my son proudly & say look what I have done! Enjoy it!!!
@Seriously, when is this wedding? You didn’t even mention you were dating someone seriously. Last you mentioned, you said you were still looking & being open to other races. Now I’m hearing of a wedding in 2012 & a baby in 2013.

You’ve probably already met him. Make a list of everything you want in a mate (no matter how silly), remove all the things a human being can’t control (like being short), pare it down to 10 in order from non-negotiable to negotiable then look around. He’s probably there on the peripheral but not taken seriously.
Not advice from me personally, I can’t claim enough life experience, but we have a family & friends monthly newsletter which gives life tips to us all based on response from the previous month.
The advice comes from a family member or friend qualified to give it. The “mate” advice came from my zio who is a psychiatrist. Myself and the 16 and under I got advice on choosing friends wisely because we hadn’t done so in the past not realizing when people were using us to get to the family.
The other relationship advice from my zia who added that there also has to be ongoing self-improvement. After all how can one expect to attract a mate of quality if we are not.
The last comes from our priest who talks about people who pray for a mate while dating Mr. or Miss “Right Now”. He makes the point that your God (we are not all Catholic) isn’t going to send you a mate while the slot is currently occupied. That’s just greed. He says one should take time for oneself , be only in a relationship with themselves and their God and then and only then will the mate come.
Life is stranger than fiction. Adkins and Eric Benet used to date, now they both have kids born the same month. In like 25 years they could be joint grandparents.
