GETTING TO KNOW COCO JONES

Next Best Thing (N.B.T.) competitor Coco Jones is certainly becoming just that, the next best thing. She has taken on a starring role in the Disney original movie, “Let It Shine” and has become apart of the Disney sketch comedy “So Random!” cast.

Coco recently sat down with Teen Ink to talk about her career, past and present. Check out some of the highlights below:

RH- How did you first become interested in the entertainment arts?

CJ- I would watch The Cheetah Girls, That’s So Raven and Hannah Montana on TV and I would beg my mom to let me act. I also always loved to sing.

RH- You have been a part of several competitive contests with your singing; what has being a part of such taught you?

CJ- It taught me to always give my best every time I go on stage or in front of a camera. You cannot give just 80%, it has to be 110%. It has also taught me that as long as I give it my all, win or lose, that is what counts. Sometimes in competitions you are just not what the judges have in mind, so you have to continue to believe in yourself regardless, or the disappointment can really hurt.

RH- What can fans expect on upcoming sketches?

CJ- Look for the genie sketch, Janet and the Janettes will be back, and much more!

RH- Are you currently working on an album?

CJ- Yes, I am! I am coming out with some great, new music. Something to really make everyone get up and dance. I am also looking forward to doing some powerful ballads. Once the albums are finished I plan on putting on some concerts with a lot of energy and fun.

Coco is on her way to becoming an entertainment superstar.

First off I would like to say fantastic blog! I had a quick question that
I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was curious to find out
how you center yourself and clear your thoughts before writing.
I have had difficulty clearing my mind in getting my
thoughts out there. I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to
15 minutes are usually wasted simply just trying to figure out how to
begin. Any suggestions or hints? Appreciate it!

Coco DOES in fact look like Jennifer Hudson. They don’t look like twins or anything, but Coco could pass for Jennifer’s little sister.

  • Nicole February 25, 2012 at 8:05 am

A prettier version of Jennifer Hudson, but I think it’s just in thus picture. In the other picture, she doesn’t resemble her much to me.

      Good luck young lady.

  • Muffy February 24, 2012 at 1:22 pm

I agree with those who think she favors Jennifer Hudson. My first thought was, she could easily play Jennifer’s daughter in a movie or a play.

  • Coco Jones February 24, 2012 at 11:41 am

Thank you BCK for the wonderful article. I am so blessed to have so much wonderful support. Everyone turn on your TV’s June 2012 , tell all your family and friends. Our movie “LET IT SHINE” will be on Disney. Thank you all again , COCO :)

She reminds me of Jennifer Hudson.

This what Jennifer Hudson daughter would look like if or whenever she has one.
