Zoey’s father, singer Tank, recently discussed his childhood during a radio interview at Foxy studios. As he explained, “I got touched. I got touched up. My mama and daddy weren’t playing. I think they came straight off the plantation and just used the same means to raise me. At the end of the day I needed discipline, I needed help. I was a bad kid but all in all it got me to where I am today so I appreciate them for it.”
Tank does not state whether or not he uses such methods of discipline when reprimanding his children. What do you think? Are occasional spankings acceptable or are there other ways to discipline kids?
Tank has four children in all.

spanking is acceptable to me, but not a “beating”. To me a beating is when you go overboard & it has nothing to do with discipline, but everything to do with abuse.
Tanks has 4 kids? So where are the rest of his little ones?

if u spare the rod you will spoil the child. i am all for spankings every now and then but some parents OD. i was a very well behaved child and it didn’t take frequent spankings to accomplish that, whereas with my other siblings they were a lot more rebellious. it all depends on the child. grounding doesn’t work with every kid and neither does spanking. parents should never hit a child out of anger or frustration. spanking should be used as a last resort when all other options have been exhausted.
I did not get spanked as a child and I turned out fine. I didn’t spanked my son and he’s five- I haven’t had to. My daughter however has a more stubborn personality so I’ve had to tap that behind maybe twice and she’s two. I guess it all depends on the child but overall I don’t see the point in having it in your regular discipline tactics, which some parents do, it should be a last resort method. If a kid talks disrespectful to his parent (for example) and you hit them because of it, are they wrong for hitting another person or child because they felt disrespected? children learn from what they see.

I whip my son’s butt. I did it more frequently when he was younger but not so much after he reached the double digits. He’s a great kid & I believed that played a part in it, even if only a small one. I believe discipline & reprimanding children are a huge necessity in raising children. W/o it your child is helpless as an adult.
In the first picture, in a strange way (a good thing) she reminds me of Mariah Carey’s baby girl. She is a pretty little girl.

I’m all for spankings! I got them when i was younger & i’m not traumatized from them or anything lol. It kept me in line
