SOLANGE ATTRIBUTES SUCCESS AS A MOTHER TO HER OWN MOM
Solange Knowles is the epitome of what it means to be a career mom. Although she is a DJ and recording artist, she always manages to spend quality time with her 7-year-old son Julez. While she could easily take the credit for being able to balance motherhood with her career, Solange attributes her success in parenting to her own mother Tina Knowles.
When asked about motherhood, Tina said, “You make mistakes as a mother, and I know that I’ve made mistakes, but overall, it’s just been amazing, and I’m so close to my children. They make me happy – probably happier than anything else that I do.”
Another thing that makes the grandmother of two happy is hanging out with the adventurous Julez. As Tina explains, “I’ve never been around little boys before, but we have so much fun. We go to Chuck E. Cheese and Dave & Buster’s. They say I overindulge him far more than I did my own children. The family jokes that I’ve bought him every kind of drum set and noisemaker there is!”
The May edition of Ebony magazine featuring Solange Knowles and other celebrity moms will be available on Friday, April 20, 2012.

I love Solange she is such an inspiration to me. She looks like she enjoying her life with her son, I want to be a mom like her someday.
I admire Solange’s individuality. I follow her on Twitter and she seems so interesting and cultured, I love her.. Jules is a cutie.. and thats what Grandma’s do spoil the grandkids even tho they were super hard on us lol

Maybe it’s just me or my computer, but why does Solange look darker in this picture? I’m not saying she’s not beautiful because she looks great, but I didn’t recognize her until I saw her son. I love Juelz….he is such a fashion icon for young boys…he is proof positive that no one has to see your Spiderman undies for you to be considered cool.

To me Tina Knowles always styles herself, like she want to look desperately like her daughter Beyonce.
Back in the 1999-2000 she followed each of Beyonces hairstyles.

Tina was doing interviews and always seen trailing the girls, watching over them on red carpets, photoshoots, and behind the scenes specials way back in the “original” Destiny’s Child so I don’t know about that post divorce limelight comment but hey…
I think this is a very sweet picture. It’s actually very reminisce of the one Tina did with Solange & Julez back when he was a little bitty baby and seeing this one only reminds me of just how much time has passed. Like, Julez is really about to be 8 years old and Tina has a new grand baby to look after. I’m sure there’ll be one with Blue and Beyonce in the near future. Can’t wait to see it. Tina seems like a good mom and so does Solange. I’m sure Beyonce will be as well. Both daughters, along with Kelly, have spoken very highly of Ms. Tina and how she shaped them as women since the very beginning and that’s always nice to hear and see. Good stuff.

Nice picture. Julez hair looks maintained. Idk about Tina’s parenting style, when these girls came out, it was all Matthew. I’m sure Tina was there balancing them but she didn’t step into the limelight until her divorce. For that reason I can’t comment on her parenting style. Julez almost always look happy so Solange is doing something correct (as Misunderstood stated above).
Tina Knowles is beautiful as are her daughters and grandchildren! She should be very proud.
