AMANDLA TEAMS UP WITH UBUNTU EDUCATION FUND

Amandla Stenberg is putting her celebrity status to good use. She has teamed up with Ubuntu Education Fund in support of the New York City gala on June 6th.

Ubuntu Education Fund is an organization that has set out to provide support to the children of Port Elizabeth, South Africa to make sure that they are able to have the best chance possible at jobs and education. Ubuntu Education Fund was founded to help the kids of Port Elizabeth stay health and enjoying just being kids.

Amandla, whose latest role as ‘Rue’ in the Hunger Games has given her international recognition, is turning out to be quite the charitable girl.

“I’m hoping to be doing more [acting projects], but right now I’m working with a lot of charities,” said Stenberg in April. “One is called No Kid Hungry, and it helps to make sure all kids are getting enough to eat. I’m also helping with the Ubuntu Foundation, which helps poor kids in South Africa.”

The young and talented star recently caught the eye of WME (William Morris Endeavors) and has signed with the talent agency. William Morris Endeavors has offices in New York City, Miami, Beverly Hills, Nashville and London. The agency represents some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry such as Adele, Lady Gaga, Usher, and Tim Tebow.

She’s so beautiful and sweet, i got to meet her a couple of months ago! I cant wait to see her future acting projects! She’s making her name, in Hollywood, with a strong moral foundation!

As a South African who is based in Cape Town, i have to thank her for her beautiful work. Ubuntu is truly doing a great job here in South Africa.
She is so beautiful, and i dont mind the racial breakdown as long as it is not linked to any negativity.

    She’s such a lovely young lady. I can’t believe she’s only 13.

She is so beautiful! I think her mom is African Amer. and dad is German? I’m nit sure but she is great. I’m happily in a interracial marriage myself, can’t wait for us to start our own family! Kudos to her parents for raising such a intelligent girl. She is fabulous.

    • EVELINA RAE May 23, 2012 at 9:39 am

Mom is African American and Dad is Danish.

    • Sherley May 23, 2012 at 9:52 am

Can we pls not dissect every single child’d genetic make-up who is featured on BCK? Who cares what they are mixed with? They are children doing great things, that should be enough. Even if they aren’t doing great things, they are precious children..period.

      • Celeste May 23, 2012 at 10:21 am

But if we don’t dissect it how will we know how to chose mates to have mixed children with? (I’m being half facetious)

        • Sherley May 23, 2012 at 10:24 am

          :) . Lol. God.

FYI, I did not chose my husband. God sent him to me. I wasn’t looking at all. He is a good man. I hope you ladies find the same. :)
