Malia is in the picture.
The adoption thing, I’m all for adoption. If a child needs a home, food, and love it really doesn’t matter what shade of skin/background their adoptive parents represent. As long as the adoptive parents put forth an effort to know things about or keep the adoptive child connected to their own roots, its fine. People worry about the wrong crap.
Aww finally Jillian is a mommy.
They need to stop reporting on the Obama girls activities. It’s creepy and unfair. It’s not her fault her dad wanted to be President. Let her have an ounce of privacy.
I am sorry, where do you have proof or evidence that it is easier for a white couple to adopt a black child? Anecdotal evidence is not evidence, btw. It amazes me, too, that suddenly you know and understand all of the processes that all of these adoptive parents underwent to become parents since you claim to know it is easier. Next, this is A-fricking-Merica where money talks and BS walks if it is, in fact, easier for these celebrities to adopt. Bottom line, they have lots of it. And last, you do realize that birth parents are allowed to have a choice in who adopts their child and with that, black women are CHOOSING white families for their kids in a number of cases.
I’m gonna take a stab and say I think it depends on the state you live in. My husband and I applied to be foster parents and the social worker informed us that there are NOT many black children in foster care (this is for MD) because blacks take care of their own. Celebs (out of the radar) have been adopting CHILDREN for ages…the media makes it about color. I agree with Sherley…shouldn’t matter the race of the child/parent…as long as they are in a loving and stable enviornment. Don’t hate on someone that can provide. I also checked on adoption…$14,000 to adopt a child in the USA but it’s only like $3,000 overseas…WHY so much money for someone looking for a child?? GREED! YEP! That’s what I think….RIDICULOUS!!
Your figures are WAY off. International adoption is @30,000. It is roughly the same for a a domestic infant adoption. We have internationally and domestically adopted kids in our family. To adopt from foster care is free however with monthly subsidies to help with the child’s needs but it is also very hard to adopt a healthy infant from the system.
Domestically, it really does depend on the state. The “system” doesn’t have one set of rules and laws. If somone has a desire to adopt, they really need to investigate for themselves. I would hate for someone to disregard the thought of parenting through adoption, domestic or international, because of information about cost, wait, etc. that may not be true for ALL adoptions.

Thank goodness these children won’t have to be raised by you. They are all blessed to be in a home where their parents won’t teach them that!
I agree with some of your comment. Wealth and celebrity does not make a good parent anymore than these things automatically make one a bad parent. Furthermore its no way to tell if someone is a good parent just from a few snapshots of moments in time. That said, why can’t we just assume the best instead of the worst? Why must some be “negative nellys” and ascribe improper motives to these people? Cant we just enjoy the pictures of the adorable tots and hope/pray that these children are being showered with all the love they deserve and that they have continued access to the best education, healthcare, etc.
I don’t know about other states but here in Pa my husband and I were able to adopt two infant girls with no problem. We were also able to advise a friend and his wife and they were able to adopt an infant. There are a lot of beautiful children out there that need homes.
I see Malia but I thought it was Paris Jackson!
I get puzzled sometime by white people adopting black babies but if those babies aren’t be harm it’s fine. A child need love and they don’t care about color only we as a nation do. I would adopt a black, white, asian, hispanic, and any other race baby if I could.
To everyone complaining about white families adopting black kids, you guys are so right. I mean, come on, what can they be thinking? How dare they try to save a child from languishing in foster care till they age out? How dare these selfish people take in a child & provide a warm & loving foundation for them? Don’t these selfish people realise that the amount of melanin they possess preludes them from providing loving homes? After all, these kids dark skin should mean that they’re left to the wonderful & loving mercies of the wholly-adequate government programs. These families in their selfishness only want to make a name for themselves & don’t take into account that adopting a child is a life-long problem. They must leave our kids alone; they’re so much better off living as orphans & wards of the state.
** End of rant….
BE QUIET! YOU AND SHERLEY..I DONT KNOW WHY YAL THINK YALL ARE SO RIGHT ALL THE TIME. I CAN VOICE MY OPINION LIKE YOU. YOU DONT KNOW THE TRUTH BEHIND THESE CELEBS BUT BC THEY ARE WHITE, EVERYTHING THEY DO IS RIGHT..OH YES, I FORGET SOMETIMES.
Don’t even mention my name in your comment. You can voice your opinion all you please, even if it is narrow minded. No one said I thought I was right all the time, not my fault, you take it that way.
I can mention your name, like I just did..now what you gonna do?
Really? SMH..I had no idea I was having a discussion with a 5yr old. That will not happen again.
Excuse me, where did I say I’m right all the time? How many comments of mine have you come across for you to reach that conclusion? Much as you stated how you felt, I did the same. I stand by what I wrote.
Awww Malia is so pretty!
I’m glad that these children are getting adopted and going to good homes but it just seems a little odd that there are so many like that… Ijs
There are thousands of black kids available for adoption through the foster care system.my sister adopted 3 brothers in March at no cost to her.Its better if you apply to be a foster parent first but not required.

Eleanor Roosevelt once said that “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” Lauryn Hill chose to be with a man who agreed to father her children and not marry her. Who really knows what went down in that relationship except for the people who are in it? If Becky held her bottom line (marriage) then she’s making her own choice. Perhaps Lauryn did not want to get married. I know I don’t.
I think you should consider changing your name to I.Am.Negative. You have got to be one of the most negative commenters I’ve seen on here. What the heck is going on in your heart? SMH. I hope you’re young because your cluelessness would make so much more sense.
EVERYTHING I SAID WAS THE TRUTH..NOW DEAL WITH IT!
I honestly believe Lauryn was very much in love with him & probably thought at some point she’d be his wife. Life sometimes has a way of not always turning out as planned…I’m assuming that that’s never happened to you. If Lauryn were to read your comment, I’m sure she’d apologize at once for being a disappointment to you…NOT!
Where did Lauryn come up in this o_O Rohan is not marrying a white woman, he’s marrying a brazilian.
“not marrying a white woman, marrying a brazilian”
Um I havent seen this lady but her being brazilian doesn’t mean that she is not white. Brazilian is not a race.
She’s not white. I’ve seen pictures of her. She looks hispanic. Her skin tone has tan tint to it. America is the only country where your classified by the color of skin. Brazil is a mixing pot. You can be one skin tone but have parents who are shades different from yourself. That’s why i just say She’s brazilian b/c she could be many races
Yes. I totally agree!
I knew it was Malia, but I already saw it on another site.
Paris needs to stay out of the celebrit spotlight (singing, dancing, acting) for as long as possible. Do as MJ tried very hard to do, enjoy being a child for as long as you can. Once adulthood gets here..it’s forever.
I couldn’t careless whom these children go home to, as long as they do not have to endure the foster care/orphanage life.
What exactly is wrong about it? I do not see what the issue is. Children are being adopted by people who care for them. I seriously do not see the problem.
I agree with janet paris should not go into the industry.
Black women have been taking care of white babies for centuries I know my grandmother did so its good to see it go the other way whereby the children will not languish in foster care until they are 18 then throw out with nothing. Good for them keep up the good work it is unfortunate that jealous, angry envious troll would rather see these children in the sysytem forever than with a good home. Too bad.
I agree. Save as many from the school of hard knocks as possible. It’s nice that someone will give the babies love and attention so that they can thrive and hopefully grow up to be one less angry person in the world or growing up thinking the world owes them something.
Exactly. When celebs were adopting Asian girls in droves, no one was complaining.
Asian babies dont affect us as a people. And how do yal know Asian Americans werent upset? Sherley, you have your viewpoints and we have ours. The truth is we dont know what these celeb true motives are for adopting Black babies, I think some are doing it bc they truly care while others just want to be preceieved to the world as be liberal and non racist, realy want to fit in and be trendy.
How is a black child being adopted by a white person affecting us? What is there to get upset about? I have yet to hear about these ‘trend following’ people harming these children or even returning them. What is the problem?
Thank you Sherly! you took the words out of my mouth. I agree with everything you said. It’s the same song and dance everytime a black kid is adopted by famous white person. The people complaining should question their own motives.
Thats because yall think yall know everything on here..yall know nohing of truth but try to dominate every poll on this site. LMBO, yall think u know evrything but dont. Sherley always tries to be right, but dont know what these celebs are thinking or their motives.
Sherley you act like you is queen of this website, lmbo..get a life for real.
@Sherley we have a person with multiple personality disorder! Using 2 different names Sherley brush the stupidness that’s being thrown at u off ur shoulders
It’s you are, not you is.
My life is guiding lost simpletons like you & from the likes of it..I have a looooong way to go.
Will do misunderstood. It will not happenn again.
My white aunts & uncles adopted their black/biracial children long before this so-called “trend” started to appear, as you seem to be asserting. They just took the first children who were presented to them by the agencies, all of whom happened to be black & biracial children, sibling pairs, or premature/addicted infants. These groups are the vast majority of those in the foster care or domestic adoption system. My 11 adopted cousins were given a second chance & they’ve grown up to become great individuals, courtesy of having parents who loved & provided for them.
Someone has to adopt these children & my family doesn’t care whether the child’s white, black, brown, purple, or polka-dotted. They don’t have to look like us for our family to love them. Adopting is an 18+ year commitment at the minimum, so don’t scoff at those who undertake such an endeavor.
And if you have so many problems with whites adopting black children, then why don’t all of you naysayers adopt them yourselves? (Kudos to everyone on here who has adopted though!)
Have you adopted any black kids? If not you can have seat!!
White celebs have been adopting black kids for years! This is nothing new, its not a trend. Charlize said it took her 2 years to get a baby. Mariska said it took her years & when she was paired w/ a baby, the mother wanted her back. Why aren’t you questioning why black celebs aren’t adopting black babies? Some of these white celebs are fine w/ being a single parent & adopting, but how many single black women, w/ no kids aren’t adopting? Stop complaining!
It also took Sandra Bullock 4 years to adopt.
I agree.
Glad to see so many white people adopting these poor children from Foster Care to spare them a life of moving from home to home like checkers on a board. Now they have a permanence in their lives an a sense of being wanted.
It’s definately a trend in hollywood with the adoption of black babies. While im glad these kids will get good homes, i wont be fooled by these actors and actresses. They all have careers and images to maintain and adopting a child, specifically a BLACK child, makes you look good to the general public.
Indeed!!
White children are easier to adopt. Unless you go to Germany, you wont find many white children available through international adoption.
I’m baffled as to why the hatred towards the women getting these children. Why should black children be the only children living in orphanages or foster homes? Why can’t they get a chance to be adopted?
Sherley, I have no hatred towards anybody. I simply said I wont be fooled by these hollyweird folk. When someone adopts a child we automatically praise them for being so caring and compassionate, I don’t know what those people do behind closed doors to just assume that. However I said in my original comment that it’s great the kids will grow up in privileged homes.
The hatred comment was not necessarily said towards you. However, we don’t know what anyone who has children, biologically, foster, adopted, do behind closed doors. We do not know what any of their real intentions are. It seems like only black people are having issues with whites adopting black children. I don’t hear a morsel of the complaints when a black person adopts a white child. Let’s hope they are doing it for a positive reason rather than assume it’s negative.
Ugh, my comment is under moderation
@UniversityChick, yes you are correct! It is definitely a trend. My aunt tried for many year, over a decade to adopt a Black child here in Chicago before she was able to. She is financially stable, great career and home..so why so long? But white ppl can get a Black child within a month & trot around Hollywood, like she/he loves everyone & isnt a racist, yeah right.
Wow! I am happy to know someone is privy to celebrity information since you know it only takes them a month from start to finish. Adoption situations can be simple (mom/dad relinquish rights immediately and have chosen a family before the child’s birth) or complex (foster child whose parents are fighting for rights, trying to prove themselves worthy of parenting while falling behind on court ordered duties to actually show they can care for their children) or anything else in between. The FACT of the matter is there are numerous children of color waiting to be adopted and quite frankly, black families are not the ones lining up to adopt them. If celebrity adoption is making transracial adoptions acceptable and in turn allowing more children of color to escape the foster care system, then MORE POWER to them. I would much rather a child go to a loving white family than stay in limbo in a system where these kids end up raising themselves. It is an ignorant and dangerous assumption on your behalf to say it only takes them x amount of time to adopt when unless you have information nobody else is privy to, you don’t rightfully know.
