TAMEKA RAYMOND: ‘MY KIDS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER BUSINESS’
Tameka Raymond is currently involved in a very public custody battle with ex-husband Usher Raymond. Although she has gained many critics along the way, Tameka is “doing fine,” as she manages to keep “great people around [her] who love…and keep [her] laughing.”
As a protective mother of five boys, Tameka does not tell Usher V,4, and Naviyd,3, about her legal battles with their father. She also refrains from letting fans of Usher talk with her boys. “I don’t want them exposed to their father’s fans, because that can get a little crazy, especially those people who may actually approach my children and ask them questions,” says Raymond.
Tameka has established herself as a businesswoman who thrives off entrepreneurship, but her kids always come before the next great deal. “My kids take precedence over business,” says Raymond, “however, I do business for my kids. I want them to know that their mom works and she’s independent. I have to leave a legacy for my sons, so that eventually when I go on to glory, they have the savvy to keep it going. I definitely want to birth an entrepreneurial spirit within them. I don’t believe in silver-spoon children and you will not see my boys hanging on a beach all day, posing for paparazzi.”

I feel Tameka got bad press from day one. I think Usher fans didn’t respect her or get a chance to get to know her. This women was talked about from the way she looked to her age. Tameka need to get her own reality show so we can get to know who Tameka Raymond is…I don’t think it’s too late. Shaunie O’Neal is her homegirl…Hopefully she can give her some advise. We didn’t know nothing about Shaunie until Basketball Wives.

I can not with this woman. Nothing about her is genuine. She does not have full primary, residential custody of all her sons. I’m all for single moms but this one here needs to go away. No one knew nor cared about her till she married Usher. She is not then, now or will ever be a celebrity for anything she has ‘accomplished’. Ehhh.

I will continue to pray for peaceful interactions between Usher and Tameka as they move forward in parenting their children. They are a scorned pair and each appears to have a great deal of animosity toward the other. As parents, both have a responsibility to conduct themselves maturely and respectfully. I hope any resentment that one may harbor toward the other will subside so that they can focus on being the best co-parents they can be to their children. While it may be difficult to do, my hope is that they can make it “look” easy.

I still don’t know how I feel about her, but I know it must be tough raising 5 boys on your own. Kudos to her for that.
Tameka is a hustler. But I do feel that she should stop punishing Usher for not being with her. You guys remember when Tameka went to Brazil to get a tummy tuck a few months after she had her son. She had a heart attack. That showed that she is all about self. I never liked her because I always knew that Usher should have done better…I mean should, not could.
I really want to like Tameka! Maybe she is a scorned woman on a mission to ruin her ex, BUT (lol) I can respect a woman who is raising 5 boys on her own, who is career oriented, and fashionable!

That’s not true! Her divorce to Ryan Glover was pretty public because she was engaged to Usher prior to the divorce being finalized. The documents clearly state that they share joint custody. She and Usher also share joint custody of their sons. She’s taken a major bashing in the media, and I feel for her!
She does have joint custody, however, she does not have primary, residential custody. Unless you can proof a parent is unfit or abandoned their child, parents get joint custody. However, one parent gets primary, residential custody, while the other gets visitation time. Or they have shared custody, where the children live with them an equal 50 percent of the time. Not sure which one she has with Usher, but she does not have primary residential custody of all her boys.
@PlainMean they removed my comment about the OMG girlz from yesterday, like I said anything worse than anyone else. BCK pick and chooses who they want to bother and it’s usually the regulars.
It’s also the strong minded individuals who do not hestitate to express their opinions. I’m not mad at BCK for monitoring their site; it’s rather irking when they focus on the incorrect persons.

@ Plain mean. Yes I feel for Tameka too, People say she has a bad attitude. But they don’t mention the attitude Usher has and the sense of entitlement that can come with being a celebrity. The worst part is this man married black woman with flaws, like us all, yet so many black women had nothing but mean hateful things to say about her, now she loses her kids, not to mention one gone forever on this earth. And she still gets little sympathy, or empathy. SMH Again after reading more about the case. Bottom line is there is something the public doesn’t know about Tameka “maybe” or Fact money talks.
