NE-YO TALKS FATHERHOOD IN TIME FOR FATHER’S DAY
Shaffer Chimere Smith, Jr., a.k.a Ne-Yo, fathers two children (daughter Madilyn Grace,18 months, and son Mason Evan, 8 months) who take his breath away. The singer loves spending quality time with his kids and expressed his love for fatherhood in People magazine’s special Father’s Day issue.
Ne-Yo’s parenting approach.
I’m not going to be that dude that predestines my children’s future. I’m just going to do my best so that my daughter doesn’t end up on a pole and my son doesn’t end up on the corner. And whatever they do outside of that is pretty much their decision.
Spending quality time with 1-year-old Madilyn.
“I’m the parent who Madi comes to when she wants to get tossed up in the air. Madi’s a little rough and tumble with me because she was my first kid. So all of the little boy things I wanted to do, I did with her. She and I wrestle, and she loves it.”
Choosing Mason’s name.
“We needed him to have a name that felt like a gentleman, like somebody you have to respect. Mason Evan Smith, you have to respect that name.”

aaaaaaw…..all three of em are cute….and yes I know…the babies face is not visible…but still…….the girls legs are so cute….I just watched a video when we were in a big amusement park when my daughter Kandice was just 15 months…..HILARIOUS….running around like Marion Jones…but with the funniest bowlegs ever…..everything looking perfectly normal…but looking at this was just so funny…and I almost cried looking back…haha…she is 6 now

I purchase $1 ice from the guy on the corner where I work, but I wouldn’t want my son aspiring to do that… What logic says that b/c we patronize a service it should be ok for our kids to do it?

If it’s good enough for you to use frequently, then you have no business putting it down. I don’t want my son thinking being on the corner is cool, so I don’t purchase anything from the men hanging on the corner. In fact, I tell him if I see him hanging with them, his arse is mine right then & there. Now as for strip clubs..it’s not good enough for my nieces but I do not knock the women who choose that profession.

So is that any different for Ne-Yo? He doesn’t think striping is the right choice for his daughter, but he’s not knocking it either. No where did Ne-Yo say stripping was a horrible thing. So he’s not putting it down, him & his wife enjoy that entertainment time to time lol

its ok for them to throw money at other women on poles. but theyre afraid for their daughters to end up on them same poles. how about ne-yo start by not going to strip clubs. then the same karma won’t be waiting for him later on down the road. there are some pics on the net recently of him and his baby mama at the strip club throwing money…

Finally we get to see his children..kinda, sorta..anywho, Madison is bow legged..awww. So far so good with Ne-Yo.
I love ne-yo, he sounds like a great dad. plus we share a birthday just different years; he’s way older than me…His daughter is so cute, Love her hair. Both of his kids name are beautiful.
