DWYANE WADE’S BOOK ABOUT FATHERHOOD IS SET TO BE RELEASED IN THE FALL

Dwyane Wade’s new book A Father First: How My Life Became Bigger Than Basketball is set to debut on September 4, 2012, and Wade couldn’t be happier. The single father of three and Miami ‘Heat’ co-captain  has a passion about parenthood that has led him to assist President Obama with his Fatherhood & Mentoring Initiative and advocate for fathers at every given opportunity.

In his book, Wade talks about everything from his basketball career to becoming a single parent.  “As a child, I grew up with aspirations to one day be a professional basketball player, and I am living that dream every day as a proud member of the Miami HEAT,” says Dwayne.

“However, the daily role I play in the lives of my two children is the single most significant undertaking of my life, and the job I take most seriously. While my basketball career has brought me many rewards – including an NBA Championship in 2006 and an Olympic Gold Medal in the 2008 Summer Games, my children are the two greatest gifts of my life.” Wade also advocates for fatherhood in his book by encouraging dads everywhere to step up to the plate and be the leaders they are meant to be.

Dwyane set a professional basketball player precedent when he won full custody of his two sons Zion,4, and Zaire,10. The NBA ‘Heat’ star also parents his nephew.

Hard and electronic copies of A Father First: How My Life Became Bigger Than Basketball will be available for purchase on its release date. Interested persons should visit the publisher’s website for more information.

Uh so tired of celebs book.I hope people know that he wasn’t forced to be a single dad.He chose to be one by forcing the kids mother out of the picture.

He was granted full custody by a judge. Judges do not usually take children away from competent mothers to give to incompetent fathers. End of story.

I love me some D. Wade. I didn’t know he parents his nephew. Children need men like him their lives.

    I hope the HEAT win!!

I hate the Heat, but I <3 Dwayne Wade! I hope that he inspires some young man to be a better father.

I love this! I love how much Dwayne Wade and Lebron James love their kids. D-wade taking on the role of being a single father is admirable, b/c it truly is rare. For him to grow up without a father and with mother on drugs, and turn out the way he did was by the grace of God.

Love how he’s doing his fatherly thing raising his sons.
