Young star Alix Lapri is no stranger to having all eyes on her. The teen singer, actress, model has been performing since she was just five years old.

Alix’s sweet voice and warm personality have helped her gain a large fan-base, with over 15,000 followers on Twitter. Although her career and music are important, Alix remains focused on school, upholding a high GPA, and taking home the Presidential Academic Award for outstanding grades.

Recently, Alix took time out of her busy day of school and music to chat with Blackcelebkids.com[BCK] about her new EP, musical influences, and more. Check out the exclusive interview below:

BCK: How old are you?
Alix: I’m 15

BCK: Keeping up with school and music must make for a busy day. Are you home schooled?
Alix: I’m home schooled. I started home school at the beginning of this past school year. It was very different, but I had to adjust.

BCK: Your EP is set to release July 9^th correct?
Alix: Yes and I am so excited because the music now is different from the “Forget Keisha” remix that I did. I’m so happy for the fans to hear this sound that I have. It’s still R&B. It’s still Alix. We just took it up a notch.

BCK: You and Jacob Latimore are both signed to Crown World Entertainment, right?
Alix: Yes

BCK: You two have worked together before, correct? Any plans on working together in the future?
Alix: Yes, we actually did “My Boo” originally by Usher and Alicia Keys. We did do a song together that’s not released, so we’ve done some things together.

BCK: Who else would you like to work with?
Alix: This is hard. I always ask myself this. I want to do collaboration with Beyoncé one day because she’s GREAT! She’s amazing. She takes my breath away. So Beyoncé and Mindless Behavior. I would really like to work with Mindless Behavior as well.

BCK: If you had one message that you would want your fans to take away from your EP, what would it be?
Alix: I’d say, I hope you guys like it. It’s from the bottom of my heart. I put so much feeling into the songs personally for you [fans] guys. I love you [fans] so much and thank you!

BCK: I know that you also are an actress and model as well as a singer. If you had to choose acting, modeling or singing, which would it be?
Alix: I love doing all 3, but singing is definitely my #1 love. I’ve been doing it forever. The other 2 are still fun. I love doing the other 2 as well.

BCK: Do you want to go to college after high school?
Alix: Yes. If I’m in the position to go to college, I definitely want to do that. I don’t know which one, but I plan on going.

BCK: If you weren’t in the entertainment industry, what would you want to do?
Alix: This is funny. As a kid I always told my mom that I wanted to be the trash truck people that drive it around. I thought it was like a robot, so I said, “I want drive that robot.” But now, I’d say that I’d maybe like to be a music teacher. Maybe a producer, maybe a manager, anything that stays in the business.

BCK: Who are your top 5 musical influences?
Alix: Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Whitney Houston, definitely, Mariah Carey, and Aaliyah. Aaliyah is #1.

BCK: Where can the readers find your EP?
Alix: Actually I have a release party coming up on July 9^th; the same day that it drops. Also, on Soundcloud, Twitter, Datpiff. It’s probably going to be on all the mixtape sites.

BCK: Where is your release party going to be?
Alix: It’s going to be at the Microsoft store at Lenox Mall

Alix: If you’re wishing to do what I want to do, keep pushing, keep working, prepare yourself and know that not everyone has your best interest in mind. Just keeping doing what you do and stay GREAT!
