KEYSHIA COLE SAYS MARRIAGE AND MOTHERHOOD MAKE HER HAPPY
Keyshia Cole loves being a mom! In a recent interview with Essence magazine, Cole revealed that being a mother and married to the love of her life, Daniel Gibson Sr., bring her an immeasurable amount of joy to the point of having to hire writers.
“I’m in a happy place now. However, some of my fans are not. So I brought on a bunch of writers this time around… obviously I’m not in that place to write those kinds of songs,” said the singer. “I think that I’ve grown vocally and I think a lot of the songs are touching to me,” Keyshia adds.
Cole and her family will be featured in their own reality show called Family First in the near future. While many reality shows exhibit violence, Keyshia’s show will focus on the family. “It’s me, my husband, my son and my mother, Frankie. My mother’s been in rehab for a while. I’m really proud of her. It’s just a different view of me and what I’ve been through.”
Keyshia’s newest album Woman to Woman is expected to debut this Fall. Daniel Hiram Gibson Jr. is Keyshia and Daniel’s first child together. The couple wed last year.

I miss Keyshia gap in her teeth. The straigh pearly whites are cool, but that gag is her signature look
lol yeah and the red hair, with the bambooo earrings but she’s grown out of that! I hate those new teeth though looks like she has a hard time talking.

I love Keisha’s spirit. And I really admire how supportive she is of her mother. She is EXTREMELY patient with all that dysfunction. Just watching the show exhausted me because of her mother and sister’s behaviors but Keyshia is always so graceous and loving towards them. Love her! And her son looks just like her.
Hiring writers to write sad songs? Ok..if it makes her happy..so be it. IDC how light you are..blond hair is not cute on black woman.

LOVE Keyshia Cole! I don’t really like most of her new music & of course I love her old music but I still support her and I’m glad she’s happy & in love. I loved Keyshia Cole: The Way it Is so I’m sure I’ll like her new show. Will be watching in October!
Wow on the writers part, but thats good she loves her life.
Reminds me of Mary J Blige, a lot of people weren’t feeling the “happy” Mary. Its like you connect with a singer because you can identify with them so when they “change” it doesn’t feel the same. But we all have to grow, no one should be in pain for ever.. we learn and move on. And if she is not in that place in her life whether she writes the music or not, she wont be able to express it authentically.

Agree with all that you said! I’ll admit that Mary’s “sad” songs are my favorite, especially Not Gon Cry, but I’m glad she’s grown as an artist and would like to see Keyshia do the same.
o_O Why bring in writers to write sad, angry, depressing songs? If you’re happy then let it show through your music and stop being pigeonhold into one category. I’m not a big KC fan anyway, aside from watching her entertainingly ratchet family on tv! So I will be tuning into the new show.
If they are real fans they would support her music no matter what. She has came a long way so they should not expect her to still be singing I Should’ve Cheated and songs like that.

Smh at some of her fans. It’s like they expect Keyshia to be singing about heartbreak and love sickness all the time (don’t get me wrong I love her songs…especially her 2nd album), but she shouldn’t have to hire writers to express something that she’s not feeling. I would like her to sing about love, life, and uplifting music…anything she’s going through presently or anything she broke through in her past. Anyway, glad to see her happy.
i agree, but im 15, and i actually like her heartbreak songs more tbh, its like its catchy to me, and i like how all her feelings go into the song, and make it so powerful. where as especially when i listen to her song take me away, i like it, but it doesnt have much power in it that she gives in that song then she did with trust with monica, or love, or i remember. thats MY opinion. we all have our opinions, but you may not agree with it. how music is nowadays, how can you blame us? we do not know good music because it is all about sex xD at least i dont expect her to sing about that, which she is not, which is GOOD. i like her heartbreak songs better, not gonna lie. BUT. i wish she puts a lot of feelings in her other songs like she does to them.
