Paris Jackson is well on her way to becoming a teen actress at the objection of her aunt. Although Janet Jackson would like her niece to pursue her dreams, she wants Paris to enjoy childhood first.

“We’ve spoken about the fact that you’re only a child once,” said Janet to Prevention magazine. “I think there’s a time for everything, and now is not the time [to act in films]. I told her I thought she should enjoy being a kid, possibly go to college—or not—but wait till she turns 18. She’s a very tough, smart girl. But it’s a cutthroat industry. I wouldn’t want my child to do it.”
Paris is scheduled to make her acting debut in 2014 as the heroine in Lundon’s Bridge and the Three Keys. The 14-year-old is the late Michael Jackson’s only daughter.

It’s ashame that this family is having a twitter, magazine war so to speak. I think it is sad that Mj’s siblings are contesting the will. I’m sure Randy & Jermaine are the ring leaders because they are after his money. Janet use to be my favorite Jackson until she felt it necessary to tell the public how she feels about her neice acting. If she discussed this with her prior to this magazine interview she should have left it private & not tell the world. As Paris aunt she should be encouraging her to go after her dream & since she claims to know the business so well she should help guide her instead of cutting her down in a public forum. Yes sure MJ wanted these kids to simple be that but sadly he is not here. I’m sure his influence is with her & she will be smart with her decisions. Obviously their grand mother supports her & the rest of the family should too.
Just saw the tweet Paris favored about Janet being jealous of her. That, too, is disrespectful. I have to keep in mind that she’s 14, though sometimes I forget when she’s on her “i’m grown” high. She’s old enough to know right from wrong, I hope. What gets me is that there are grown people on twitter who tell her that her behavior is okay. I just hope someone steps up & leads this baby in the right direction. I hate to see their family constantly in the spotlight for negativity. I’m not going to comment much on the family or the will situation, as it would be speculation, assumption, hasty generalization, &/or ignorance. However, I hope I never witness her publicly disrespect an adult again.

Well she did grow up rich and was raises mainly by her dad,who I don’t believe was strict with them.Maybe overprotective,but not strict.I saw some of her other post about gay marriage and stuff and I didn’t agree with them.I can see why she acts the way she does though,and I believe its because she’s never had her mom actively involved in her life.I kind of think that the kids should go to Debbie Rowe when Katherine passes,even though Blankets not really hers.They don’t just need a grandma and dad.They need a mom.I also believe that what Debbie gave Michael was an amazing gift that he didn’t want to share.She needs to stop acting like she doesn’t care now and go claim her kids before the jackson siblings tear them apart.p.s Why would Michael want black kids afte his skin turned white.And why would he want them to look like how he used to when he thought he was ugly then?
You can take kids out of quotation marks because blood or not they are his kids that he raised from birth. And so what if they run their mouths on some “touchy” issues. What would they get? Nothing. The money that Michael made was his, he earned it and he had the right to give it to whomever he pleased and he chose his children. Case closed, if people are bitter over it then oh well, that’s the way the cookie crumbles. They should’ve made smarter decisions regarding their own money and careers. The only thing they would get would be a complete spectacle surrounding their whole family, them included, because trust they wouldn’t be exempt from the criticism.
I agree.Paris definetly does not need the money.She is pretty much set for life,so I think she should just focus on school now and maybe join the drama club or something.
And let’s be real you know the media will tear her apart over actin just as much as they tear Willow over it. Can she truly handle it? She need to stop runnin her mouth on Twitter . I wish my child would .Causing more drama when she knows sites like TMZ are always on her. She could have done that behind closed doors.
We don’t know anything because we haven’t seen Paris act yet nor have we seen how she will truly carry herself in the public eye. And Willow Smith is not the sounding board for how other child actors/singers will be judged.
I’m only making a point because you know how rude people can be over Willow. Just imagine what they could say to Paris… It doesn’t matter her skills they will still judge it as nepotism and you know people hate that. Lol.. She seems to always respond to every little thing . Maybe her aunt is right and she should just wait til she is 18. I think Janet out of all people knows better than Paris does.

I replied to your post but BCK is holding it.
I don’t follow Paris on twitter, so I don’t know what she says or does, and I’m not trying to say that I agree with any wrongdoing that she’s done on there, but I will say that I think from the outside looking in that it’s for people to say stay in a child’s place, but for all we know these kids really could be raising themselves, therefore putting themselves into a very grownup position. Ms. Katherine seems like a sweet woman but she’s old and getting older so I doubt she has the energy to be running after three very young and agile young people, nor does she probably know what twitter is. The Jackson’s have never really struck me as a close family, and you really have to wonder at how many times these kids had met their aunts and uncles before MJ died. Of course family always wants to bandy around when a funeral comes, but where were they before. Paris could not really know these people and on top of that in her eyes, they’re telling lies, so therefore why should she have any reason to respect them at all. Even Janet, who not a leech like the rest, could really not be that close to these kids. The statement blood is thicker than water is not always true.

Believe me, I don’t totally misunderstand where you and the original poster are coming from. Yes the media can be brutal and maybe it will be to her and maybe it won’t. My point is that You can never tell which way the wind will swing in the entertainment business. Plus acting is very different from singing and although Paris’s father was MJ, nepotism doesn’t take you very far in the acting business if anywhere at all, when you or you’re parents are not the ones producing the movie. Movie directors and producers have a lot to lose when it comes to movies, so they’re not into casting anyone who won’t add to their films. It all comes down to pure talent, if she has it no one can deny it, if she doesn’t then she’s an heiress I’m sure she’ll find something else to do.

And on top of that someone told her don’t insult your uncle like that she responds “Maybe he should respect his mother?” I know MJ aint raise those kids like that! LOL. And then this morning she favorites a hate tweet towards Janet for not agreeing for her to be in the industry. Maybe Paris should talk to Willow. They are friends . I have nothing but respect for Katherine Jackson but part of me believes she let’s the kids do what they want (she is in her 70′s). Janet and Rebie are the only two Jackson siblings to me that don’t come off as leeches. I believe Janet is coming from a place of genuine concern and hope that Paris at least listens and not just write her off as someone who is trying to hold her back!
Actually she is 84,and I know its hard for her to watch over 3 kids.
Goodness I thought she was 78 or 79……yeah their probably running circles around her!
Maybe this will be the start of a great career for Paris. Not many kids her age get to follow their dreams, especially at that age. Of course the industry can be nasty, but I think that with the right people in her corner she’ll be fine. Since the decision isn’t up to Janet, maybe she’ll be better off showing support and mentoring her niece.
I also wasn’t feeling the way Paris got into “grown folks business” with her Uncle Randy, even though I do think the Jackson siblings are a bunch of leeches.

Seems like Mama Jackson doesn’t really take her kids’ ideas into account when making these decisions but ultimately, she’s the gaurdian and she gets final say.

This is my problem with the social media and kids. Not because the age limit is 13yrs, it means that 13yr old are mature enough to use it.
She could have called her uncle and tell him about what he did. Long ago even if you knew an adult was lying you kept ur mouth shut because it wasn’t ur place. then again we cant be hard on her because we preach honesty to our kids and its what she was doing.

She’s deleted the tweets & I do applaud her for publicly apologizing (she prob got one of those Jackson beatings). I hope she learned that the public loves Jackson family drama so next time call Uncle Randy’s cell, talk in person, or better yet.. stay out of grown folks business if she can’t come correct & respectful.

Paris is such a beautiful girl. I can definitely understand where Janet is coming from. She has been in Paris’s shoes as far as getting in to the industry as a child. Paris should definitely take her advice in to consideration.
They better listen to Janet. She was a child actor and she said she couldn’t really be a kid. And Michael felt the same way.

I totally understand Janet’s concern. She knows that Michael wouldn’t approve of putting his children out there so young, but it seems like she is the only one who respects her brother’s wishes. I just pray that the media doesn’t make a spectacle out of Paris as they made out of other teen stars.
Right. I’m sure Mrs. Katherine is doing an awesome job raising her grandchildren. From a distance, the kids SEEM to be doing really well despite their father dying and a complete lifestyle change. But I wish she would have encouraged Paris to stick with developing her skill by acting in plays or maybe acting classes for now. Actors have rigorous schedules and then you have promotions and the like. I’m with Janet, focus on being a kid.
But at the end of the day, it’s up to Paris and Mrs. Katherine to decide. Atleast she’s not being forced. And atleast she has a lot of family around her that cares about her a lot, like Janet, and can give her guidance and watch out for her in that “cutthroat industry”. I guess now all that Janet can do is make sure she’s not taken advantage of in any way and has a good experience.
