TAMIA TALKS MOTHERHOOD AND MORE
Canadian singer and songwriter Tamia Hill talked motherhood and health with Deya of Black America earlier this week. Although she is often praised for her ability to balance motherhood and career life, Tamia told Deya that none of her juggling would be possible without a strong support system. “I have a lot of great people around me that help out when I need it. I have a wonderful husband, so it’s a support system. I think that so important and helpful when you’re trying to do everything.”

When not putting her creative juices to use in the studio, Tamia chauffeurs daughters Myla,10, and Lael,4. “I actually just feel like my kids’ driver,” explained the star. “When I’m not working, I’m pretty much chauffeuring them around to all of the various things that they do. Of course, engaging in sports is on the girls long list of activities.”
So, who do the girls take after? “Myla is very much like Grant,” says Tamia. “She’s very calm, easy, laid back. Lael is kind of feisty. They do things that remind me of myself, and then they do things that remind me of Grant. It’s funny when your kids [mimic] you. Even things that I don’t really realize that I do they’ll do and I’m like, ‘that’s so me.”
Tamia and husband Grant Hill wed in 1999 . The couple have two children together.

I absolutely LOVE Grant & Tamia! You don’t hear anything negative about them in the media, they stay to themselves, they’re “real” & honest, they love each other, they’re raising their girls in a loving home (I know that every couple has problems & that every family has their share of ups & downs, but we never hear about theirs). Tamia is a REAL singer that has stayed true to herself & she hasn’t “sold out” or pranced around on stage half naked in order to sell tickets/albums. Music is nothing like it used to be & that’s why I only listen to old school music because the artists today can barely sing, they’re always grinding/gyrating in a club or on stage & that’s not what music should be about…..I want that old school back (sigh). Grant is a great basketball player a wonderful father/husband & provider. I wish that there were more “real” black celebrity marriages/couples (like this one) that we could receive inspiration from, but too bad there’s not many :-/ May God continue to bless the Hill family!! 13 years of marriage & still going strong….I LOVE LOVE!!

Those girls in those glasses…too cute. Tamia & Grant do not get enough recognition for their marriage & how they are raising their children positively. Halle can take note..2 celebrities raising 2 children & no pap drama. Anywho..great job Hills!
So far they’re the only young NBA couple that still have a strong committed marriage. I love a man with morals and values. Such shortages of men like Grant today. Tamia better praise and thank the “Heavenly Father” daily for blessing her with a faithful man and loving father to her and her children. When you have that strong support system there is nothing to stress about, just “Live, Love, Laugh”. Can’t wait for her new album to drop
