Today I read on AOL’s Black Voices blog that Gabby’s Mom responded publicly to criticism of her daughter’s hair. Interesting.
Gabby responded herself to the critics..”Are you kidding? I just made history”. Love her!
Pisces, you know I love you, but it’s ok to let this topic go. No amount of defending Gabrielle will stop black women from being the way they are. They have high blood pressure, diabetes, are obese, but their hair is ‘fresh to def’. That should be on their tombstone. Still, let’s not focus on this ridiculous topic anymore. She already made history, so we shall lift her up for that. Gabby has 2 more chances to win the Gold & I’m hoping she gets them both with her cute, humble self. Go Gabby!!
You’re right, Sherley. Also, it’s not as if the so called “au naturelle” advocates are going completely native. They are obese and sick too and still styling their curly tresses. As if females even in Africa are not straightening their hair.
I’m glad Gabby’s fit and active as a teen because her Mom is not skinny, either.
She made history alright. Dominique Dawes’ hair was never the focus of her performance in past Olympic performances.
I’m happy she probably won’t be overweight like her Mom. Big deal!
Agree!!!!!!! Because it was always clean it was a non issue! Thank you!
I think some people, need a hobby, or maybe they should worry about their own hair. Hope none of this ruins her confidence.
Blogging at BCK is a hobby! Just like playing slot machines online.
Wow, hope they find his daughter.
And commenting on Gabby’s hair is ridiculous. Especially it coming from her own. Bashing her for it, but not congradulating her on her success. society has already made little black girls and even older women feel like its not okay to not have straight hair. And how I see it, any black woman knows that if you have any type of oil, gel or jam in your head and doing activities like gabby is doing all that will be dripping down our faces in the end. I cant stand people
On a positive note, congrats to her on her accomplishments as well as landing kellogg’s. Oh and to clear things up. I dont believe she signed for 90 mil with kellogs, but it is a muti mil $ endorsement. I did read that she is expected to receive over 100 mil in endorsements, plural people. anyway congrats.
An on the Jackson kids. Im so tired of hearing about them, so annoying. Its like when BCK had every story about willow, whether it was picking flowers or picking her nose. BCK, step it up.
I hope she opts to go to college and not take the endorsements because it will get her Mom out of bankruptcy.
that would be great. If she were playing tennis like venus and wanted to go to college sometime in the future, but the reality of it is that alot of gymnist get injured and no one ever knows if that will be their last time competing. So yeah I think she should go to college, but thats 2 years away. So she has time to come to come to a conclusion. and I dont think it would be necessecarily so her mother can get out of debt, i think it would be more so because thats what she likes to do.
Flesh N Bones 15yr old daughter has been found & returned home safely. Praise God.
Gotta love the irony of applying the terms ‘liberated’ and ‘free thinking’ to those who are mentally enslaved by the idea of their natural texture not being beautiful, while also physically shackling their hair into a permanent but unnatural state. This site is awesome, and it’s not just because of the stellar moderators.
Can you tell I’m a frustrated comedian?
BCK?
I dont see what is wrong with her hair!! If I were an athlete I would wear my hair the same way.
This post is filled with way too much ignorance. Black women, we have got to do better. I am an athlete and when I was running in high school, the last thing on my mind was my hair. If anyone took the time to actually google Gabby, there are pictures when she wasn’t competing and her hair was curled. Let her be great!
Agree. Mark my words, though…the greater she gets, the straighter and silkier her hair is going to get as part of her brand. Just watch.
Let’s hope not Pisces. Let’s hope Gabrielle focuses more on 2016 Olympics than her hair. I hope she has a little defiance in her & goes kinky curly.
Agree, Sherley. And let us also hope that Gabby opts out of taking endorsements so that she can go to college and further compete in future Olympic games like her White counterparts in her age group are opting to do.
Translation…she is only 16 years old! I hope she goes to college with all of the limitless opportunities she’s being offered right now. College is not everything but it’s good to have under your belt.
Gabby’s hair is fine. She should be allowed to wear her hair the way she wants and it really is not important if WE like it. Why can’t we all just be a little more accepting of each other.
One question please answer.
What’s up with black women and hair?
That is the billion dollar question. No other race focuses on hair as much as black women. I don’t get it. SMH
All praise to the German inventor, Charles Nessler, who developed the first perm/ “creamy crack” in the world in 1905.
It truly was the second biggest step in freeing and liberating (at least the hair)of the slaves since the Emancipation Proclamation! We free thinking Black women are forever indebted to the man.
Why is it that my comment to Pisces wasn’t posted when all I was doing was pointing out basic truths and flaws in her line of thinking?
BCK moderates many comments on here. I too have a few comments being held for moderation. They will post but probably tomorrow.
Because, Laila, it’s not your job to point anything out to me.
LOL. But Pisces, they are all allowed to have & post an opinion, even if it is wrong.
You’re right, Sherley. I’m not disputing that fact you pointed out to me.
LOL. By the way, Gabby’s mother is pictured next to Gabby in the above picture. She is the woman on Gabby’s left, in black & red & wearing sun glasses.
@ Sherley…you mean the one with the WEAVE?
Pisces, I’m going on vacay in a few weeks so I plan on getting a weave. Therefore no comment on Gabby’s mom choice of hairstyle. When I get back, take out my weave & let my natural nappy tresses flow..we’ll talk.
@ Sherley, have fun on your vacation! I’m sure you will be beautiful no matter what style of hair you choose. That’s what’s so great about having so many choices of ways that we can wear our hair.
Gabby and her mom look good to me.
It wasn’t your job to respond to a comment that didn’t address you either but that’s neither here nor there. The point still remains that in everything you wrote not once were you able to adequately counter the point that Gabby’s hair doesn’t need to be straightened–chemically or otherwise. What her mother does to her hair is her own business. It has nothing to do with Gabby. Same goes for those around her. On what planet is there a rule that states you must look like those around you? A billion black women with perms does not take away the true meaning and purpose of a perm in black hair, which is to imitate caucasion hair. Her hair is fine. Point blank. Nothing you’ve said disproves or changes that fact. Gabby basically said the same thing. Only the ignorant have a problem with her hair, or black hair in general in its natural state. I’m no more proud of a perm than I am a black person who bleaches their skin because they hate looking black. It’s all the same.
I have to give credit where it’s due, Laila. I find your responses and arguments to be very intelligent and I appreciate that they are not hostile or personally attacking. I respect your thoughts and excellent communication skills.
Believe me, I get you. Loud and clear.
More than references to her hair , I would think that referring to this champion as a “flying squirrel” would be more offensive. I mean everyone knows Rocky the Flying Squirrel was brown and had a severe overbite. I mean, come on, now!
My bad…correction…Rocky the Flying Squirrel was actually grey as depicted in cartoons. That only makes it worse in my mind.
There is a reason perms and straightening combs were invented, and the reason was the view of black hair in its natural state is unattractive and unappealing. How other people use them is irrelevant, even if the products had the same effects on non-black hair (which they don’t). That’s the view of whites, and blacks who choose to let others dictate the standards of black beauty. I don’t agree with that nonsense. Gabby’s mom’s hair is irrelevant. She’s not competing, and what she does with her hair has nothing to do with what Gabby does with hers. Why does Gabby have to have straight hair in the first place? Who said her hair was permed? Madame CJ Walker became rich by profiting off of black self-hate. Playing off of the insecurities of black people who thought they needed to look as white as possible. Not all of us subscribe to that mentality. I guess I’m just around more progressive black people. I don’t really run in the same circles as those who view weaves and perms in such high regards.
Gabby’s Mom’s choice of hairstyle is not irrelevant. Gabby only lived with the White family in Iowa for training, Gabby’s mother is the one who presumably is the first and primary person who ever combed her own female child’s hair and as a result definitely influences how Gabby chooses to style or comb her hair.
Gabby is not a kid who has been adopted out. Her parents divorce is not even final and her mother is in debt for $80,000 and had a townhouse she owned in Virginia. Gabby’s parents though not together are very much a part of her life.
The point is that Gabby is not a thrown away child and her own parents have had a great influence on her success. You mean to tell me that you believe that this 16 year old teenager does not talk to her mother about hair issues or that her Mom has no interest or input into her minor daughter’s image?
If her Mom didn’t she does now that her child is a star. Thankfully the bankruptcy issue will be resolved now and the media (TMZ) won’t have that to dissect like the hair issue.
You’re not going to hear about Black women squawking about the bankruptcy angle of Gabby’s story because more than hair, money/financial matters seem to be more taboo with Black people…so used to not having any.
After reading some of your comments may I suggest you take a break from the computer and develop your own life.
I don’t understand your desperate need to drag every negative detail about the Douglas family onto this site. You gleefully mentioned more than once that Gabby’s mother filed for bankruptcy, her parents are getting divorced, you hinted that perhaps, maybe, hopefully Gabby ruined the Iowa host family pillowcases with her “grease”.
Whatever is going on in her Mother’s life Gabby still has 2 gold medals and the possibility to earn more, and nothing negative that you are trying to drag into the conversation will take away from her accomplishments.
Gabby Douglas at age 16 has earned 2 gold medals and none of your negativity can take that away from her.
@ Falalala…May I suggest to you an new pseudonym, such as “minding my own business” or “I will allow others to have a different opinion than mine and not attack them”?
Falalala is a moniker to light spirited for a person who has such strong hostile opinions as yourself.
You say what you want to say and I will continue to do the same for myself, thank you very much. Gabby’s mother filed for bankruptcy. There! I said it again and it is a fact, whether you like it or not. Itch!
correction “too light spirited”.
Just as nothing you can say can make me stop my expressing my opinions just as you express yours on here or anywhere else. So no, you may not suggest anything to me because I won’t be following your ill advised misdirected suggestion.
@FalalalaFail… who are you? Are you Gabby Douglas’ newly hired publicist/ PR rep?
People can talk about Diddy’s mother’s hair on here but I’m not supposed to say anything about this girl’s mama’s hair?
So you are the new hair gold medal police on BCK now? I think not and I won’t be following any of your so called directives especially because you say so. You sure are full of yourself, lady.
So because Gabby’s mom’s hair is a certain way, Gabby’s must be the same? Someone should get the message out to my whole family. We missed the memo. Gabby herself has made a point to let people know that she doesn’t care about your opinions of her hair. She also doesn’t see anything wrong with it, and I agree. It doesn’t need to be permed or straight. Pisces is making a lot of irrelevant points. I agree that black people who still view perms as a must are behind the times, particularly when they comment about someone else’s “need” of one. It’s a choice. It’s not something anyone needs. If you feel you “need” it then you may need to learn self-acceptance.
Yep…you’re right you missed the memo and a whole lot more.\
Madame Walker is a hero of mine because she was one of the first Black noted business people in the United States.
And whether you respect her contributions or not, White America sure does because she has been included as not only a contributor to African American history, but American history in general and she is documented as such.
She invented something and became rich for doing so. She was Black and ahead of her time. There was a demand and she supplied it..filled it .
Gabby Douglas has done something we can be proud of, but she didn’t invent gymnastics. People such as Madam CJ Walker made it possible for Gabby to be in the spotlight with her half straightened greasy hair.
We Blacks have a rich illustrious, history. Why condemn Madame Walker’s contribution? It’s here to stay in spite of how people feel in the form of grease, straightening combs, hot curling irons perms and weaves whether you accept it or not.
Madame CJ Walker spear headed an entire industry into the multi- billion dollar industry that exists today. It remains to be seen what Gabby Douglas’ legacy will be. Ever heard of Dominique Dawes?
Why would I be happy about a black woman creating a product that specifically and permanently rids my people of a natural and genetic feature? Just because it made her a millionaire? I’m worried about the idea that making a lot of money should alone warrant admiration. CJ Walker is not a hero of mine. I’m not proud of the fact black people hate their features and hair. I’m not proud that white standards of beauty dictate our own. I’m definitely not proud that there are black people that would ecven attempt to convince others that we should take pride in our insecurities.
Gabby stands to make a ton of money in endorsements which is the goal of most Olympic athletes, so you see that as alright but not making money off of hair straighteners? Gabby could not exist had not a Madame Walker existed before her. Gabby has greasy hair in the pictures because of Walker.
JaneD…You may not be happy about the invention of hair straightening products, but many significant African American women in the public eye straighten their hair. Examples : Michelle Obama, Condoleeza Rice, Oprah Winfrey,Susan Rice…not to mention tons of entertainers such as Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, Monica, and countless others featured daily on this very blog.
That dispenses the argument that only insecure, self hating Black women want to use products to alter the natural state of their hair.
I’m white and I personally think that black people have beautiful hair. My whole (biological) family encouraged my adoptive cousins to leave their hair in its natural state. It’s the hair they were all born with, so why bother changing it? I think it’s beautiful just the way it is: all natural.
My cousins shouldn’t have to change their hair any more than I have to (although I would love a little bit of curl instead of this pin-straightness). And the same goes for Gabby, too.
Gabby runs in circles that highly regard perms and weaves…just direct your attention to the BCK photo above…each Black woman around her has straightened hair or a weave in her Mom’s case.
Let’s not forget, the spotlight is on Gabby, not on us and who we associate with.
People who choose to wear their hair permed or weaved are in good company or are at least a part of many…from Madame CJ Walker to what has now turned into a billion dollar industry, more seem to buy into it than not.
Almost every female celebrity featured on BCK either has permed hair, a weave or wig of some sort. We seem to adore them regardless if we are a fan of theirs.
Supply and demand, Economics 101.
Why diminish Madame CJ Walker’s contribution to African American as well as American history? She is highly regarded in the financial history and annals of this country. She made a significant contribution to society way before Gabby started leaping in air and flying around. Not to diminish Gabby’s achievements but it’s all relative.
Madame Walker and Gabby will equally be noted in history books as making significant contributions to American and the world society.
Every time you see a Black person with a perm or straightened hair you can credit the first African American millionairess with that.
Just because you don’t value it, many many others do.
Gabby’s hair is probably not permed, which is not only perfectly fine but something to be proud of. Sorry black women, I know this is hard for some of us to accept but we’re not all brainwashed to believe we need chemicals to make our hair as close to Caucasian as possible. It’s not going to look perfect when you train and compete. I guarantee that none of the women criticizing her hair have even been in a gym, let alone know what it’s like to work out six hours a day. Btw, perms and weaves are still considered a ‘must’?LOL Step into to 21st century.
Nobody said perms and weaves are a “must” but clearly Gabrielle’s mother prefers them so it’s not like those women haven’t heard of them. Look at the Mom’s picture if you don’t believe it.
I’m proud of the young lady’s accomplishments, but in the close up photo, her hair looks like her roots have grown out under a perm that needs to be re touched.
There was areason perms and the straightening comb were invented in the first place and Black women aren’t the only people who use them.
Madam CJ Walker became the 1st African American millionairess in the 20th century (born in the 19th century) and became rich from production of Black hair products.
Somebody was buying them then as they still do to this day…Black hair products are a billion dollar industry.
These are facts, not just my whimsical thinking or wishing life was otherwise.
The point/fact is that in the 21st century, 2012, treatment of Black hair with chemicals and/or weaves, extensions, etc. is not passe and very much relevant to African American life.
So much so that it is a billion dollar industry that Blacks do not primarily profit from in the 21st century.
I’m not sure I understand what point you are trying to make. Yes Gabby’s Mom looks like she is wearing a weave but Gabby was living with a host family in Iowa to train with her coach. Not everyone thinks hair is the be all and end all in life. She was training for the Olympics which includes a grueling training schedule in addition to going to school.
I’m sure the las thing on anyone’s mind was her hair. Gabby’s hair was pulled back in a ponytail like the other girls so I don’t see what all the fuss was about.
The point being that “creamy crack” as some refer to it in discussion at this site, wasn’t even invented by a Black person and not specifically for Black people. The first relaxer was developed by a hairdresser from Germany named Charles Nessler in 1905.
Someone early on on the board alluded in a thinly veiled manner that some Black people need to come into the 21st century as relates to treatment of Black hair.
My point is simply that Black hair products are a billion dollar industry in the 21st century….it’s at least as still popular as it was post early slavery when we first began using products to mask the true nature/texture of some Black people’s hair.
No need to get hostile towards me because I am voice my opinion as others do. I am not attacking Gabby or anyone on this board personally so please stop being so damn hypersensitive and defensive.
I think Gabby’s hair looks neat and her hairstyle is the norm for gymnasts. However, in these particular pictures, it looks slathered with some kind of grease. Lots of teenagers like this look I find in observing them.
Most women, no matter what the age, don’t know what it’s like to be an athlete who spends hours training daily. They have plenty of time to make sure their hair is laid; Gabby had a dream to accomplish. Saw her twitter where she thanked God for her talent. This young woman already knows that God, hard-work and commitment will get you very far in this life. Not quite sure what hair crack or a good weave can get you. Haven’t seen too many days when I’ve thought Venus or Serena’s hair was laid yet they are some of the most decorated athletes in a white dominated sport. That’s what they will be known for, not their hair. Gabby, keep flipping, twirling, jumping past the haters. They don’t matter anyone.
congrats , very proud of you !
The girl was jumping around, flipping and sweating she had her hair on the appropriate way for the events what were they expecting her to wear a lace front? Please half the people complain hair may be laid but they can’t even do a split…..congrats Gabby I’m very proud of you!!!!
You are so right LaTanya. Gabby got skills and a bright future. I’m sure she had sense enough to tie her head up at night when she was living with that Iowa family so the grease wouldn’t stain all of their pillow slips.
I’m just sayin’…I know I wash my own pillow slips a lot and not just from slobbering in my sleep.
.
I just saw a picture where her hair is down looks like it’s permed or pressed out. She had on a pants suit with both of her medals on she looked nice. She probably just pulls her hair back for practice and competitions.
Gabby’s Mom’s perm is looking good. When Gabby stops sweating so much from flipping around and flying in the air, her own Mama should know how to hook her child’s head up for the press and general public.
I’m really not sure if that is a perm or a weave Gabby’s Mom has on her head but it looks acceptable. It’s better that people are Tweeting about the hair issue and not the bankruptcy filed by Gabby’s Mom. The endorsements will remedy that with a quickness.
There’s always something to dig up on people when they are flung into the public consciousness.
I Googled a photo of Gabby’s Dad. He’s good looking from the picture I saw. He has to be proud!
For shame!
I bet folks throwing all these negative non-characture related comments have the flyist everything but g.p.a.s , credit scores and posited net worth.
Who gives a sh***t about her hair when she won the all around gold medal! It would be nice if someone step up and help her with it but heyyyyy is about gymnastics not beauty salon!
Agree wit you, yaya because I really don’t give a s*** about nobody’s hair more than my own.
So Gabby D. has shown our young black girls something that they can aspire to be … a gymnist considered the best in the world. Yet some of us chose to focus on her hair. DEAD.
Congrats GABBY…….
Some black women won’t even go swimming b/c they don’t want to ruin their hair -____- This girl is about to blow up more than she already has. Has gold medals, going down in the history books, but the people who complaining about her hair are sitting on the couch, eating ramen noodles & wanna complain rather than praise her for her amazing talent smh.
@Trisha..dead at eating ramen noodles. LMAO!!
I love Gabby. She is beautiful and has a great personality.
I am glad for tia and can’t wait to see her new show.
I don’t think Gabby’s hair is the real issue..I believe people are upset that she’s only 16 , African – American , female , and doing more in her young years..than those that are complaining about her hair. She’s just truly amazing and beautiful. Those individuals that are bashing on her hair, are just really lonely & sad and their lives aren’t as amazing as young Miss Gabby’s. Keep flying through the air with greatness..your truly a golden girl!!!!.
The talented GABRIELLE* is beautiful, hair and all! Goodness…why must we always criticize and judge? (Yet, we are the first ones in church on a Sunday morning! I just don’t understand.)
Gabby is awesome. It’s too bad she has to hear about her hair when the pea brains commenting on it will never do anything half as great. The problem with Twitter users is that they think every idiotic thought that goes through their minds needs to be shared. People forget Gabby is still a child. I hope the negativity of a few ignorant, non-achievers doesn’t affect her.
go gabby so proud of you
She’s awesome.
BCK, It’s GABRIELLE Douglas not “Gabriel”.
Her performance was flawless. Congratulations “Flying Squirrel”
Well, again, the media takes a few Twitter comments and blows them out of proportion. This is one of the problems with Twitter, people talk freely like they would to their girlfriends or whatever…problem is it’s posted all over the Internet for everyone to see, and for someone in the media to pick out and make a big deal about. EVERY athlete in those games has something negative Tweeted about them, their hair, they body type, etc. I use Twitter, so I know.
As for Gabby, I’m so proud of her! Show’s you what hard work can do, although, the girl had to make many sacrifices (separation from her family).
Too bad the comments made about Gabby’s hair were made from black people. We thrive on keeping each other down…we are our own worst enemies.
Well, guess what? With the contracts and endorsements she’s going to be getting, she can buy as much hair products as she wants! Ignorant people. Be happy because a young, black woman has accomplished something big. Why is her hair so important anyway? It’s not what won her that gold medal.
@JaneD – You said it all. SOME Black women think having perfectly coiffed hair should be every Black women’s FIRST priority. So small minded. We gotta rid ourselves of that mentality.
I am so proud of Gabby I could burst! She’s such an inspiration. I hope she doesn’t let any of that negativity get to her. Keep doing you Gabby!!
Love the Williams sisters as always!
IT’S AMAZING TO ME HOW SO MANY OF YOU BELIEVE EVERY WORD THAT THE MEDIA SAYS. IF THE MEDIA WERE TO SAY THAT 99% OF AFRICAN AMERICANS ARE OBESE, THEN YOU ALL WOULD BELIEVE IT. YOU JUST BELIEVE THE MEDIA OVER YOUR OWN RACE. DID YOU EVEN NOTICE THAT MOST OF THE COMMENTS ABOUT GABBY WERE POSITIVE.
Two things stick out about all the criticism black women gave to Gabby about her hair. The first is that too many black Americans’ worlds are so small that if they focused on her hair it’s because the magnitude of her accomplishment was lost on them. They can’t even fully comprehend the depth of her dedication to achieving such a feat at 16. The second and most important thing is the weave wearing, perm loving crowd is still self hating in 2012. Not all black women hate the natural state of our hair. It’s sad that some black women still hate the sight of the way God made their hair. That’s pathetic.
Why are black people taking the attention off of this child’s outstanding achievements and placing them on her hair. Like Really? It’s like crabs in a bucket it tell you. SMH
People keep forgetting to mention that she’s the first American to EVER win gold in both the women’s gymnastic team finals AND the individual all-around. That has NEVER been done before by an American woman of any color! And she could possibly pick up even more medals on individual beam & individual uneven bars. That’s one seriously talented young lady!
And anyone who’s said anything about Gabby’s hair obviously knows nothing about gymnastics, since your hair MUST be plastered to your head or tied into a very tight ponytail. Gabby wore her hair exactly how she should in competition. She’s achieved more in life than any of those petty whiners did. Go Gabby & Team USA!!
Congrats to Gabby and Serena. If people are so concern about Gabby’s hair why dont they donate money so that she can get it done. Alot of the those athletes dont have alot money however winning gold is their ticket to getting mega endorsements.
Sooooo proud of Gabby!!!!! Also Serena mowed them down to get the Gold. Both are so impressive and represented our country well. USA all the way!!!!!
I’m very proud of her. She’s making history.
I agree with you 1000%. Everything else is irrelevant
“I know folks aren’t tripping on Gabby’s hair. Ignorant is as ignorant does. She’s 360 degrees of black beauty…
Also, Gabby’s a participant in the Olympics in London in 2012, and not at home watching it on TV criticizing…
There is nothing wrong with any of our hair. As long as you wear it the way you like it.” -Terry Mcmillan
<—What she said.
I was so flabbergasted at the comments I was reading via the Internet about her hair texture and style. Yes, her hair looks like Kenzi Kente, BUT who CARES?!?! She is the first African American female to achieve a GOLD in gymnastics!! I just doesnt make any sense to me! Sistas ALWAYS have something to say!
PLEASE STOP BLAMING YOUR ENTIRE RACE FOR A FEW PEOPLE’S IGNORANT COMMENTS. STOP IT!
That’s a great picture. So happy for the little lady. Go Serena Williams for the GOLD in tennis, too! Go USA! WooHoo!
I submitted that picture to BCK. Thx for posting it BCK! It shows her just as amazing as she is. This young lady has made me so proud!
I adore Gabby as if she were my relative. I went off on several people (including that person who calls himself my man) regarding her hair. Gabby has beautiful long hair that looks great in a ponytail or out. Black people need to get it together because the more hate they show..the lower on the success chain they will be.
Katherine has joint guardianship of the kids..TJ also has joint guardianship & Diana Ross signed off on it. I still don’t care.
Sad about Flesh 15yr old daughter. I hope she returns home safe physically & mentally. We need to teach grown men to leave our children alone.
Congrats Tia!! Stevie wants joint custody of his children not full right? Is their mother that bad?
Tameka Foster is a witch on wheels. She has been/is/will always be about the money. Even if Usher didn’t want to postpone the custody issue, she should want to take that time to grieve precious Kile. She’s hoping to milk the judge’s sympathy. Hope he sees right through her gxfxbxp behind. Usher made several offers to her & she turned them down because she wants more money..probably to replenish what she was getting from Kile’s father. I simply cannot tolerate that thing called a woman.
Totally agree!
Both of you stay on me regarding my opinions & comments. Now I know I make your day whenever you read them, but there is life out there besides reading my comments. Try doing one of them & I promise you wont be disappointed. You say I’m clueless yet you both took time to read my mini book. As for Tameka Foster, I. Do. Not. Like. The. Woman. No matter how you try to degrade me or my opinion, nothing will change that. But you get an D+ for effort.
Say that Sherley! U can have an opinion just like everyone else!!!! BLOOP!
@Misunderstood…LOL at “BLOOP”!
Sherley I truly believe that you THINK you and your opinion are more important than you really are. I’ll chalk that up to your lil BCK fans you’ve seemed to accumulate. But not everyone is a follower. Yes you have a right to your opinion sweetie and at times I happen to agree with you and in those times, I say so if I so choose. But at other times I think your ish is wack and I have a right to THAT opinion. And I’m belittling you? No more than you belittled Tameka. Keep your “D for effort”; I don’t need your approval. Trust and believe that I’m not concerned about anyone cosigning MY opinions because they are mine. You are the one that flips when someone doesn’t agree. Get use to it because your opinions aren’t the “Be all and end all” for nobody but Sherley, oh and your lil followers, misguided or whatever his/her/it name is.
IDK why my response did not post, but here it is again. You can chose to see my name, say this chick here is clueless & bypass it; however you choose to stop, read it, agree or disagree & comment on it. That shows importance to you in some form. As for me, my opinion is stated for me, because that is how I feel. Any one is free to agree or disagree, but no one will tell me I am not allowed an opinion. The only fans I have are the ones who feel they will be as important to me as I am to them if they tell me about myself. You are just another fan..don’t be shy..welcome..I’ll add you to the list.
LETS NOT EVEN DRAW ATTENTION TO THE HAIR ISSUE. THE MEDIA IS DOING THIS ON PURPOSE. THEY WANT PEOPLE TO FIND SOMETHING NEGATIVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS BEAUTIFUL AFRICAN AMERICAN TALENTED YOUNG LADY. THEY ALSO WANT OTHER AFRICAN AMERICANS TO FIGHT ONLINE ABOUT OUR HAIR. NO! LETS NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THE VERY FEW IGNORANT PEOPLE WHO MADE THOSE NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT HER HAIR. LETS JUST FOCUS ON HER ACCOMPLISHMENTS. GO GABBY! GORGEOUS BLACK GIRL WHO IS NOW A CHAMPION!
I agree. What’s even sadder is how the black blogs focused so much attention to the comments about her hair. Everyone else got in on the game because they were trying to figure out what the fuss was all about.
You are 100% correct Connie. It still infuriates me to hear people say, ‘congrats but her hair needs to be done’ when they themselves aren’t doing a darn thing worthy. She’s a child doing great things..lift her up just for that! But if she had a child instead, she’d get all types of praises. It’s sad.
By the way Connie, you’re name is spelled incorrectly.
LOL, THANKS SHERLEY
Please don’t try and correct me! I know how to write properly but for what this isn’t my job only a blog! Reread it thank u!
@Misunderstood, JMO is just another fan. She will be ok once she’s out of denial.
Watched Serena work the court as if she were sleep walking. I know he’s not black but the double amputee from South Africa named Oscar Pistorius made history coming in 2nd..he made me smile in amazement. I’m black 1st & mom of a special needs child 2nd.
.
Serena amazing, first time I watched her play. Oscar ” the blade runner” Pistorius, as we call him here, has been somewhat of a local celebrity for some years here in S.A. He is an inspiration. Gabby is truly amazing.
All four of them-counting Venus- & even Micheal Phelps were worth sitting on the couch watching the Olympics. They all are inspirations & awesome. But Gabby, hands down, I bow down to.
