NE-YO MISSES ‘MILESTONES’ AS A POPSTAR PARENT
Shaffer Chimere Smith, a.k.a. Ne-Yo, is a celebrated R&B singer who often tours the world. Although he loves his job and the positive impact that it has on others, Ne-Yo is often lovesick for his kids.

“The toughest part for me is not being able to be there as much as I’d like to,” the singer told Good Morning America. “I’m missing milestones as we speak, not that I don’t love being here with y’all, but my daughter [Marilyn] just said her first full sentence and I’m not there, so that sucks a little bit.”
Ne-Yo also commented on fatherhood in general saying, “It’s really not as difficult as people made it out to be. I expected it to be way harder. My kids are my friends, we cool.”
Shaffer and his girlfriend Monyetta Shaw have two children together: Madilyn, 20 months, and Mason,10 months.
