Singer Tiffany Evans is best known for her performance on ‘Live at the Apollo’ that got her five stars and title as champion of the junior division of ‘Star Search.’  Evans is back in the spotlight, and she’s giving VIBE all the details about her new EP, her pregnancy, and more.

On her being pregnant and married at a young age:
“You know, everyone has different life walks. I can’t step into anyone else’s journey and they can’t step into mine. All we can do is learn from each other. With that being said, I had a different life. Some experiences I’ve been through have made me the person that I am. I’ve made decisions based off of my maturity. When people look at me, it’s so hard for them to believe that I’m not the average 19-year-old. I graduated high school at a very young age, I started in this business when I was 9 years old, I got signed when I was 10, and I was doing a lot on my own. That’s kind of how I’ve lived my life for the past 10 years. And all of this is real. When I got married, it was a decision that I feel was a great one. I just don’t want to explore and date a lot. To each his own. However, I feel like when you find someone who is genuine, especially in this industry, who really has your best interest, and you really love each other, why not? A lot of people are not going to understand that, but they have to understand that a lot of things that I’ve done in my life, I had to do on my own. I’ve been on my own for a very long time, so I had to learn different things earlier than a lot of people my age. I was actually married at 18. Our anniversary is coming up this year in September so I just say two years. My Birthday is in August—I was legal.”

On whether she will allow her daughter to be a child entertainer:
“Honestly, it’s hard to think about that. I know I have to prepare myself, but if she came to me, and she was really sincere with wanting to pursue the entertainment industry, I would just be there for her. I would tell her all of the information that she needs to know—the do’s and don’ts and who to look out for. I want her to be able to talk to me. Your children have to be able to talk to you, because if they don’t they’ll talk to someone else. You don’t know if that someone else will give them the right information. I just want her to be free with me from her heart, and I can help her out. That’s what I want. I’m sure we’re going to have a great relationship. I just want to be there for my daughter.”

On her the upcoming EP, Take 1.
“There’s going to be lots of songs on there like “If You Love Me.” Lots of soul, lots of R&B. Also, a lot of experimenting with a live instrumentation. It’s coming soon. I’m really excited about it. It’s so me, so revealing. I really can’t wait for people to hear it. I’m trying to stick to my R&B roots. The things you’ll hear on the EP are just me. When you hear the music, you’re going to feel it.”

  3. I send blessings her way! I know it can work! Both of my sisters got married at 18 years old. They have both been married for over 20 years and are both happily married with kids. I got married at 24 and have been very happily married for 13 years. That being said, you don’t have to date and sleep around to be happily married, actually chances are you will be more satisfied with each other without all that baggage coming into your relatonship.

  4. Amen to that, its her life. Americans need to stop babying young adults. You are grown when you turn 18 years old. They’re grown enough to smoke, have sex, drive and drink.

  5. I liked her from day one! When she was a little girl. Her voice is amazing and she is beautiful. I love her and support her. I don’t want to date alot of ppl either. Can’t wait for her baby.

  6. I get she’s been through a lot at a young age, but there are still things one does not know or fully comprehend until their in their late 20s or early 30s. These things can even be about your own personal self that you thought you knew, but didn’t. Not saying anything to her per se..just saying just because one went through a lot of adult things, still doesn’t really make one fully mature.

  7. I’m 22 years old and someday maybe in my late 20s early 30s I will start thinking about starting a family. Right now that is not my focus and I don’t need any kids or husband tying me down. Most of my classmates have started families. I want to live a little before I start a family. I hope she is happy and her baby brings her more Joy than ever. She has been through a lot and settling down is probably the best thing for her.

  8. Tell ’em girl lol. She went thru a whole lot! What she went thru may have made her more mature than some 23 yr olds. Being homeless, emancipated young, being in the crazy industry, etc. She probably felt she saw & experienced all she needed to. The reason a lot of people want to go thru their early 20’s w/out kids is b/c they want to finish school, go partying, settle into a career, save money. She did all that lol. So i can understand why she felt she wanted to get married.

Congrats to her & her husband
**She got too much hair on that head tho

  9. @Misunderstood…Thanks for pointing that out I would’ve never known she was the one that played Tyler Perry’s daughter in a Diary of a Mad Black Woman…She had a strong soulful voice to be so young. One of my favorite movies.

  10. She’s grown, but I still look at her as that little girl begging her daddy to let her sing in a Diary of a Mad Black Woman! I was a mature 19 yr old, but getting married and having a baby was the furthest thing on my mind. Any who like she said different strokes for different folks! I wish her a happy healthy baby and marriage!

  11. Tiffany might be young, but like her song says, she’s grown now. I see that b/c she makes grown decisions. Even though this is the way it should be, I’m happy she got married first before having children. Set the example Tiff :)
