Mindless Behavior and YN Rich Kids may be very different in a lot of ways, but the two groups have a few things in common that make them fan favorites. Both groups recently made the cut, on two different lists, as top young groups of 2012. Mindless Behavior made the 2012 “21 Under 21″ Billboard list and YN Rich Kids made The Popdust Files: “18 Under 18.” Here’s a little background on both groups:
Mindless Behavior has had a very busy year so far. They’ve toured the country, won the BET Viewers’ Choice Award, and are currently working on their upcoming album. It comes as no surprise that the foursome made this year’s “21 Under 21″ Billboard list. Their first album, “#1 Girl,” debuted at No. 2 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and “Mrs. Right,” featuring Diggy, which peaked at No. 8 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, which adds to the reasons that the guys are among the top young artists in the country.
The fellas are ready to show the world that they are growing as young men and as artists with their sophomore album. They told Billboard.com, “The second album is going show everyone that we’re not kids anymore. We’re teenagers. We’re a boy band, but we’re not kids.”
YN Rich Kids:
The Yn Rich Kids made the list for The Popdust Files: 18 Under 18.
Yn Rich Kids came together to write their viral hit song “Hot Cheetos and Takis.” The song from the group of mini rappers from a Minneapolis YMCA after-school program has been called “Summer’s final truly great jam” by Rolling Stone. Although some of the kids may have a new found love for hip-hop from this experience, the intentions for making the song were focused on teaching the kids a fun way of learning.
Other young stars on the list included Jacob Latimore, Mindless Behavior, Diggy Simmons and Jaden Smith.
Congrats to everyone that made the lists!
