ROYCE REED: ‘MY SON DESERVES THE BEST’
Royce Reed may be criticized for her decision to ask Dwight Howard to pay legal fees accrued in her and the NBA player’s custody battle, but she’s not going down in silence. The reality star recently took to Instagram to defend herself after TMZ broke the story and critics began to talk.
“Mom Law: My son deserves the best & rather than take food out his mouth, the roof from over his head, an education, extracurricular activities, great Birthdays & Christmases, & the smile off his face, I WILL file necessary motions. Judge that if u live in a Glass House.” The actress further stated, “We will never struggle… Period! Braylon will always have the best! That’s what I fight for.”
Reed has acquired $40,000 in legal fees since Dwight motioned to gain sole custody of their son Braylon in 2010. The former ‘Basketball Wives’ star is expected to have over $100,000 in legal debt at the custody battle’s ending. Dwight has not commented on whether he will or will not pay Reed’s expenses.

Sounds like he doesn’t want to pay child support to a woman whom he felt was a jump-off. Too bad so sad as he should’ve thought of that prior to knocking her up. She would be a fool not to ask that he pay her legal fees. He can certainly afford it.

Why Howard would sue for custody of Braylon when he has other children (he isn’t suing their mothers), reeks of spite and unpure motive (thanks Ms. Sherley).
Reed has a right to ask Howard to pay her legal fees. He started the lawsuit and Reed should not have to take “food out of Braylon’s mouth… to pay for something that Howard started.

In the real world when parents go to court over custody issues, each parent has to pay their OWN fees. So why should it be different now?
Exactly. She can sue for the cost but reality is she is liable for the payments until a judgement states otherwise.

Dwight’s just being a jerk PERIOD! He has 5 other kids, if he’s not fighting for sole custody of them then he needs to leave Braylon to his mom. It’s obivious that’s he’s not going to get sole custody so he should have to pay since he’s the cause of all this mess!

Yes, children do deserve the best from BOTH parents. So I agree there.
I do not know the specifics of this case, but I will say this: Some of these celebrity men crack me up. They are so fast to spend and brag about strip clubs, women, cars (that they dont even have a chance to enjoy because theyre working!!!), multiple houses and poppin bottles, BUT the minute its time for them step up and be a father and provider, there is always an issue. Then you let someone else to tell you when and how much to pay for your child. I am so tired of this crap and its not just black men and its not just celebrities.
Last I checked this man made 19.54 million USD in 2012. $100k shouldn’t break him. Wow, be careful with whom you take to bed…they could be in your life for a lifetime.
Seriously! They can easily solve this by JOINT CUSTODY. He’s not a toy to be fought over! Royce has TOOO many men in & out her door around this child. I still think that pic she took of her son in bed asleep w/ her “current” man at the time is reason enough to question her ability to parent this child. I dont understand why these men with money feel they can just up and snatch a child from a loving parent who is able to provide stability in the childs life. I don’t think he should have to pay her fees. Maybe he wouldn’t file for full custody if she don’t have her son around every new athlete she’s sleeping with. Girls think they hit the jackpot getting knocked up by these athletes/rappers & think they gonna live a carefree life now that they getting a 18 yr paycheck, but these men are getting hip to their ways & making their life difficult smh
Why is it that people always point the finger at the woman? He is to blame too. He slept with her. It takes two. He also has women around Braylon. Dwight is no saint. Trust!
But at the end of the day, the woman decides on her body. Ok, dummy didn’t use a condom, but she couldn’t make sure he put one on, or be on birth control, or the plan B pill? We have control over our bodies. Reason why a lot of people point at the woman. Being that Royce has a record of dating a new man every other month & a good portion being athletes, she fits into the groupie category. Dwight takes fault in this too, b/c he should have been smarter
I didn’t have my son around each guy I dated unless it became serious. However, just because Royce has her son aroound the men he dates does not make her a bad mother, person, nor reason for Dwight to get sole custody. Now if she has him witnessing her sexcapades then yes. But being around different men isn’t any different than having several male or female friends. I use to see it the way you do, but now I introduce my guy friends as I do my girlfriends, until it become serious. If it doesn’t, I explain it just as I would explain a female friend no longer being a friend. My son doesn’t see me do anything different with my girlfriends than I do with my male friends, meaning I keep the sexcapades hidden.
I just started dating again after my children’s Father and I officially broke up earlier this year. I won’t be introducing my kids to anyone I might want to get serious with. Not even as a friend. My daughter (almost 6) is too smart for “this is Mommy’s friend Bob. Even on a phone call, which I didn’t know she was around, my daughter can book it’s a male…”is that Daddy” with a confused look. I guess I change my mannerism. My son (2 1/2) gets real awkward around my actual male friends that I’ve know for years…I think he’ll have a hard time with this more than my daughter.
So, that’s how they make Big Wheels now? Lol. I had the Smurf one, but it didn’t look like that. On a serious note, I hope that Royce and Dwight can work this out for the sake of Braylon.
