THE ALLEN FAMILY ARE ‘ALL FOR 1!’
Ray Allen and wife Shannon are pictured with their son, Walker, in support of USA Today’s ‘All for 1!’ initiative that spreads awareness about Type 1 Diabetes. The Allens are featured in the most recent issue of the publication, sharing their story of coping with Diabetes while living in the spotlight.
Ray and Shannon have become passionate advocates for healthy living since Walker was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes a few years ago. The couple have shared several nutritional tips with their fan base, hoping that such action will reduce the number of individuals diagnosed with the disease. Over 20% of children and teens either have or are at high risk of developing Diabetes in America.
The Allens’ story, as featured in USA Today, is expected to reach 1.3 million viewers. Ray serves as a celebrity advocate for JDRF in addition to playing for the NBA. He and Shannon have five children together.
