CONNIE BRITTON: ‘ADOPTION WAS SOMETHING I KNEW I ALWAYS WANTED TO DO’
Connie Britton and Eyob have a mother-son moment in between car transitions. Eyob, nicknamed Yoby, stares into the camera as mom holds him in the air.
Connie recently gushed about her decision to adopt her son from Ethiopia saying, “It was something I knew I always wanted to do. I lost both of my parents within three years of each other and I kind of thought, ‘What am I waiting for?’ The man will come and if I want to have my own kids I can do that, but I [knew] this was something I [wanted] to do.”
Now, as a mother, Connie finds herself doting on and singing to Eyob all the time. “It is really true. I sing to him all the time,” gushes the actress. “Poor thing practically never hears me just say a straight word. I sing everything like we’re in a musical. I guess he likes it. He wasn’t able to defend himself because he couldn’t speak until just recently.”
Eyob is Connie’s first child.
