DERRICK ROSE’S POOH BEAR
NBA player Derrick Rose snaps candid shots of his son Derrick Rose Jr., a.k.a. PJ, for the New Year. The little one looks adorable holding onto dad and sitting on mom’s lap.
PJ carries a nickname that has been passed down from the previous generation. Derrick’s grandma nicknamed him Pooh when he was a child because the ball player had the appeal of Disney’s Winnie the Pooh. In keeping with tradition, Rose nicknamed his son Pooh Jr., hence the name PJ for short.

Derrick has been spending a lot of time with his family as he has been recovering from ACL surgery. Rose injured his left knee last year during the first game of the playoff season. Although he has missed the beginning games of the season, it is speculated that Derrick has returned to practice with the team in preparation for future competitions.
PJ is Rose and girlfriend Mieka Reese’s first child together.
