QUVENZHANE TAKES HOME CRITIC’S CHOICE AWARD
Quvenzhane Wallis is showing the world that she is truly is a natural born star. On the same day that the tiny actress made history by becoming the youngest person nominated for an Oscar, she also won Best Young Actor/Actress for “Beasts of the Southern Wild” from the Critic’s Choice Movie Awards in Los Angeles.

After high-fiving and hugging her “Beasts” director Benh Zeitlin, Quvenzhane gave a short acceptance speech (according to NOLA.com). ”First I would like to thank God for all my blessings,” Wallis said as she read her acceptance speech from a mobile phone. “I would also like to thank the film critics for this award. Thanks to Mr. Benh Zeitlin and the Court 13 family for thinking I could make a good Hushpuppy. Lastly, to my family, friends and fans — good night!”
