Chi Chi Monet is using her skills as a rapper and singer to spread positive messages to anyone that listens. The 9-year old artist fills her songs with encouraging words to inspire those around her and connection with her peers and her audience.
The young Washington DC native has been surrounded by music throughout her entire life. Her father spent his spare time producing music in his studio and Chi Chi always spent time there with her dad. Even as a toddler she could remember different beats and rhythms from days in the studio. Her father even helped her come up with her first song at the age of 6, “I Like to Learn,” which was for school.
Chi Chi continues to have a passion for philanthropy and has made that apart of her music career. Recently, she performed at the “Beat The Streets 2012,” Peace Rallies series in DC, which helps to get rid of violence in the community. She has also been apart of many other events to unite her community and raise awareness about issues that are relevant to her generation. “No Bully,” her most popular single, teaches young people that it’s not ok to be a bully and tells victims to stand proud.
Chi Chi Monet will be hosting “Get Kids Movin'” Part II on January 19th, as part of the Inauguration Weekend Event for Kids Celebration in honor of the inauguration of President Obama and the “Let’s Move!” campaign of First Lady Michelle Obama.
Congrats and keep reaching for the stars Chi Chi Monet!
