Fifteen-year-old Coco Jones performed at the Beacon Theatre during Mindless Behavior’s headlining All Around the World Tour on Saturday, July 13th.
Although the teen singer/actress did not headline the concert, she certainly gave fans a fun, energetic and memorable show. Coco performed What I Said (from the original “Let It Shine” soundtrack), Made Of and her hit song Holla at the DJ, from her EP titled MADE OF. She also sang a Beyonce interlude and did her very own rendition of Lil’ Wayne’s How to Love.
Coco released her hit song Holla at the DJ on December 7, 2012 and the song has received more than 1.4 millions views on Youtube. “I would describe it as a very energetic, clubby song,” Coco said about her song. “When I first heard the song, I honestly related to it. Once, I was at a teen club and I had to tell the DJ over and over to play a certain song. I actually had to holla at the DJ.”
Coco’s 4-song EP, MADE OF, includes World is Dancing, Déjà vu, and Made Of and Holla at the DJ. World is Dancing is a great dance song for fans, while Déjà by Roahn “First Born” Hylton, Tommy Brown, and Fran Hall shows off Coco’s skills and vocal range. The title track, Made Of, was co-written and produced by Mel & Mus (“Runaway Love” Justin Bieber/Rihanna/Nicki Minaj/Jamie Foxx).
The All Around the World Tour kicked off in California earlier this month. Also performing with Mindless Behavior and Coco are the OMG Girlz.
