Warren Sapp is officially one of NFL’s greats as he was recently inducted into the league’s Hall of Fame. The former NFL player took the stage with his 15-year-old daughter, Mercedes, by his side as he unveiled a sculpture of his head that will be on display for years to come.

Sapp was quite the emotional one when giving his speech to fans who have supported him throughout his career saying, “I never played this game to get in the Hall of Fame. I played this game to retire my mother because my mother worked to the bone and I wasn’t going to allow her or myself to be in that position again.”

Warren also talked about his stay on the Tampa Bay ‘Buccaneers’ team telling fans, “I played for a lot of coaches in my day. When I got to the Tampa Bay Bucs in 1995, it was 11 straight double-digit losing seasons. If you don’t know what that means, its 10 losses or more. It was a lot of losing and a lot of bad times. But a young man walked in the door, and he showed us structure and a path and a vision how to get it done day in and day out.”

Sapp began his football career with the ‘Buccaneers’ and played for the Oakland ‘Raiders’ before retiring in 2008. The former athlete has six kids in all.
