President Barack Obama is planning to spend his first Christmas in the White House with his wife Michelle, their two daughters Sasha and Malia, and his mother-in-law Marian Robinson, whom the president feels “lucky” to have.

President Barack Obama, first lady Michelle, and their daughters Malia,11, and Sasha,8, pressed the button to light up the National Christmas Tree at the Ellipse on December 3, 2009 in Washington, DC.

First Lady Michelle Obama and her daughters Malia,11, and Sasha,8, received the official White House Christmas tree a day after Thanksgiving. The tree, an 18 1/2-foot Douglas fir, was delivered by a  horse-drawn carriage.
